A Big Announcement Coming From SPG on September 2nd

On Tuesday morning, September 2nd, Starwood Preferred Guest is going to launch a major new initiative. There will be 2 separate webinars, one call at 8AM US Eastern time that should be convenient for some of our members outside of the U. S. and another at 12 Noon US Eastern time.

William, thanks for the heads up, my only concern is that SPG will announce some "enhancements" to the program.

This sets Starwood apart from its competition and I, for one, appreciate it. Not sure if I can make the calls, but it's great to have a chance to hear it first.

Nicely done.

I'm not supposed to say this, but...

Platinums will now have the opportunity to confirm upgrades in advance.

Oh wait, it's not April 1st

I'm VERY curious as to what this big news is.

i am a devoted spg fan but my thought was that "major new initiative" is hotel talk for an airline style "enhancement". i would hope they wouldn't go to this much trouble if they thought this would be viewed as a negative as opposed to a positive.

regardless, thanks willilam and spg for thinking of us in this innovative way.

I am with you, Love SPG and have been platinum since SPG day 1, but lately with every announcement we loose something.
With SPG and William, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I would assume Starwood is going to post this new initiative on their website or hopefully someone here will post the details on Flyertalk? I unfortunately have to work and can't participate which is a bummer!
