What's Your Favorite Starwood Brand Bar None??
Good Day fellow FT'ers,
I was just thinking... out of all the Starwood Brands which one is your favorite/least favorite? Mind you, I have yet to have the privilege of staying in all 9 of them (in due time) but I am going to have to go with the Westin ^^ & least favorite chain A Loft
Honorary Mention goes to The W Hotels.

I'm with you. Westin is usually our preferred brand given the choice. W is a little too cool for us, Sheraton very inconsistent in quality, St Regis a tad too upscale (but very nice none the less!) and Luxury Collection few and far between for us in Europe.
We have found that you can normally walk in to a Westin and know you are in a Westin. You can be in a Westin room and know it is a Westin. The same can't be said across most other brands for us.
That said, we won't just stay at Westin over other Starwood brands blindly, but it is likely to be on the shortlist.

I suppose Westins are my favorite. But I'll take anything but a W.

I like 4 Points. Because they are reasonably priced and predictably reliable.
The other brands all have way too much variability to know what you'll be getting just from the name alone. I've been to some Sheratons and Westins that are among the nicest hotels in the world (especially Sheratons in Southeast Asia), and to others that make your average Holiday Inn look attractive in comparison. In particular, the Sheraton brand is all over the map in terms of quality. It seems ridiculous to me that the Sheraton name can represent a beautiful 5* property or a crappy 2* under the same brand, as well as anything in between.

Luxury Collection: some grand, unique properties, many historic, but refurbished. Doesn't feel like a chain. W is a runner up.

Westin. The branding is perfect--and I love the Westin Workout gym. It's great to be able to count on consistency among hotels. Luxury Collection is a close second.
My least favorite experiences have been at W hotels, particularly the W New York which has such an undesirable hipper than thou vibe and rooms the size of a shoebox. Give me the Sheraton Towers over this place any day!

W and Westin are a toss up for me.
I like the W Vibe and amenities (toiletries and ipod docking station) and I love the Westin's new decor and gyms.

Westin is great but Four Points Sheraton takes the cake. As someone else mentioned with Four Points you know what get.
Also, how can Sheraton, Westin and the rest still charge for internet? Seriously!

Depends. Love the W... but usually go for the Westins. The variability among the Sheratons is huge as one of the posters mentioned. Besides the Westin Workout gyms are a huge plus for me.

I'm thinking Westin as well.
