Chance to test a med for jet-lag, travel free to France & get paid up to $2,500

Read this on another board but it looked interesting enough to post here -

Needed - sleepy, cranky, disoriented travelers for flight to France.

Clinilabs is conducting a clinical research study of an investigational medication for jet lag. This medication is FDA-approved for other sleep disorders. We need volunteers in good health, ages 18 - 65, who have suffered from jet lag in the past. Involves one overnight in NYC; 4 days / 3 nights in France. Travel at no cost. Compensation up to $2,500.

Apparently travel to France is included but not to NYC - any takers ?

Andy.

this requires about 7 days time, with no opportunity to leave testing centers in NY or France. You can not stay longer in France as the return trip to NY is part of the study.

What about meals?

Everybody knows you get NO rest in a hospital/medical facitiliy. I'm guessing they will have you wired up and monitored like crazy. I'm sure it wouldn't be a lot of fun, but you might get to catch up on some reading.
A week's worth of free food (albeit French...) would help your budget, too.

I know plenty of people who would spend a week anywhere for $2500 spending cash.

Yeah, doenst sound so bad if a person had a week to spare. It seems you may need to be in the NYC area to really make this work though.

I did several in-residence clinical trials when I was a college student. I actually enjoyed them because of all the free time I had to read and study, since the concept of a controlled study requires that they confine you inside the whole time. Some studies didn't allow us to even go outside on the patio.

As for medical apparatus, some required wearing a heart holter and/or a heplock in the arm, with frequent blood draws. It's not a big deal after about half a day.

It does seem interesting and a little tempting, but I don't know if the Mrs. would believe me even if I did sign up...

The idea of not being able to stay in france longer is a deal-killer.

Then again, $2500 is not bad. And I could get a ton of work done if they let me bring my MB...
