Stays Count Double Towards Elite Status (11-1-08 to 12-31-08)

Just got this, not sure if targetted or generally available.

ELITE STATUS COMES TWICE AS FAST

Upgrade to Hyatt Gold Passport™ elite Diamond membership faster and enjoy exclusive services and benefits. Now through the end of the year, your eligible stays at any Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide will count double toward achieving Diamond status.

Nice, thanks Hyatt ^

I got the same email notice. It says the double stays will count toward status thru February 2010.

What was your current 2008 YTD stay total....i.e how close were you to the 25 stay Diamond requirement?

Its one of my children's accounts: 3 year platinum account, never diamond, 20 stays YTD.

I have one stay to go and they sent me this rediculous promo

Surely their computer would flag accounts that only have one stay to go and drop them off the promo.

it just looks so impersonal!

I have 20 stays so far and got the email a few hours ago
6 stays booked at the moment till dec 31

What I might do now is just do 4 stays and earn less 1 FFN.

This promo would have been better 1 month ago.

Would this double stay count for FFN purpose as well?

Neither I nor my husband received it.

I requalified back in March, and my husband is a plat without a single stay this year.

While it's nice, I would prefer it in January

Hotel business is in a sharp downturn. GP probably uses this promotion to maintain the same number of Diamonds for the coming year. @:-)

I already requalified and didn't receive one. I don't need it yet it would be nice to know that Hyatt is thinking of me.

Wow... If I had seen this before I booked my stay at the HR O'Hare tonight, I could have saved it. Oh well, 4500 GP plus 1/2 FFN for $79+10tax is still worth it.

With two double stays, I've officially requalified for next year, and I still have at least one more work stay to go. I had four extra stay credits from the 1Q09 promo - at 18 stays/year to make Diamond, it's a great program.

I booked 4 stays in this period to go from 21 to 25. I have completed 2 of them. Another starts Monday. After getting this in the mail I quickly went to check the cancellation terms and rates to see if I can move that to an SPG property to improve my You Choose standing. In the end the properties I'm staying at are the cheapest for me and I'll earn another FFN. Now to figure out two more SPG stays.

This should be nice for those needing the little push to reach Diamond.
