SIM Card for 4G iPad in UK

I'll be in London/Wales/Scotland for two weeks in September and would like to get a SIM card for my 4G iPad to use throughout the trip.

Can someone offer suggestions for the best carrier/plan to get this? Will be arriving at Heathrow and staying in the Hyde Park /Grosvenor Sq. area of London for the first part of the trip.

I've done this in the US and it worked fine except for the automatic rebill, which the carrier took care of quickly when I called.

Without a UK address or credit record you will be unable to get a monthly-billed contract. You could get a prepaid T-Mobile SIM for free and get a month's data for £15 (after using 1GB data you will be unable to stream videos etc.); see www.t-mobile.co.uk for store locations.

Be aware that there is no 4G coverage in the UK. Only 3G.

Prepaid is what I have in mind, I will only be there for two weeks so I have no interest in a monthly billed contract.

The 3G will probably be fine, I'm not even counting on even coverage wherever I go.

Is the £15 for unlimited data, video aside?? Not that I plan on streaming videos; more like email, text, browser, and using Google Maps/GPS quite a bit in the car.

More details on T-mobile's fair use policy can be found here but yes, you can always browse and send/receive e-mails.

If you need i can send an Austrian Three Card to you.
Only for 9,90€ (Simcard) + 15€/Month you get a 100% Unlimited Data Flat!
You need only a UMTS (WCDMA) Cellphone.
There is no Passport/ Address require.
If you not a Terrorist i can send the Simcard to your Address.

1GB -> 4€
10GB -> 9€
"SuperFlat" -> 15€
+ 9,90€ / Simcard

This service will send you the UK prepay SIM for the network of your choice (free in the UK, small fee if overseas). I've used them before and they seem reliable.

That's probably not a great deal of use for somebody visiting the UK...

Three no longer offers Three Like Home in the UK. Nor is there Three coverage in Iran.

In any case, £15 with a free SIM is less than €15 plus a €9.99 SIM.

You do not need to provide any ID to purchase the above-mentioned T-mobile SIM.

Three UK no longer offer Three Like Home to their own customers, but customers of some other Three networks can still avail of Three Like Home, including on the Three UK network when visiting Britain.
