Targeted: Save 20% on your next Saver Award (MPF940)

Got this email.

As a valued Mileage Plus® Visa® cardmember and a Mileage Plus elite member, you are invited to receive a special 20% mileage rebate on your next qualifying Saver Award.

It's easy to get your rebate:

1. First, register at united.com/mpf940.

Register now
2. Use miles to book a roundtrip Saver Award on United® or United Express® between October 11, 2010 and December 15, 2010. You can get the mileage rebate for up to two people traveling on the same award reservation.
3. Your 20% miles rebate will be posted to your account four to six weeks after you fly.
A couple notes:

- Works in premium cabins!
- Good for any passenger! Does not have to be cardholder or MP account holder
- You can only use it once (but up to 2 passengers), so pick a good reservation to book after registering
- Appears to have no travel date restrictions, so you could potentially book for any travel available on Dec 15th (330 days out)

Full T&C
Terms and conditions
Rebate applies to up to 2 passengers traveling on the same qualifying itinerary. Offer valid only for original recipients of an email invitation to the offer. Member will receive a one-time miles rebate in the amount of 20% of the miles redeemed for a qualifying Saver Award, for up to 2 passengers traveling on the same itinerary. Rebate will be applied to the Mileage Plus account from which the award was issued, regardless of the passengers traveling. If multiple award tickets are issued within the valid ticketing period, the rebate will apply to the first ticket flown. Miles rebate will be deposited to member's account within four (4) to six (6) weeks following the completion of qualifying travel. Offer not combinable with other non-combinable offers. This offer cannot be applied to previously issued tickets. All Saver Award rules apply. Taxes and fees associated with award travel are the responsibility of the passenger. Award tickets are subject to applicable departure taxes, federal inspection fees, passenger facility charges, and other fees, charges or taxes, and the person utilizing the award is responsible for the payment of any such items that may apply. Any valid unused award ticket or certificate may be returned to the Mileage Plus Service Center for a service charge up to two years from the date of issue. Award space is subject to availability and capacity-control restrictions apply. Since award space is booked in a special class of service, it may not be available on all flights or on all days of the week when you choose to travel. Travel on award tickets is not eligible for mileage accrual in United Mileage Plus or any other frequent flyer program. Offer subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment. Miles accrued, awards issued and bonus offers are subject to the rules of the United Mileage Plus program. The Mileage Plus program, including accruals, awards and bonus miles offers, is subject to change without notice. Taxes and fees related to award travel are the responsibility of the passenger. Does this have any restrictions on travel dates? According to the T&Cs the ticketing date has to be by 12/15 but could you book a flight for a year out?

Certainly appears that way. Great for 1K members with no cancellation fee. I definitely intend to take advantage of this, thinking about booking a trip to Australia. 16k rebate isn't bad at all.

Now that the merger is Final, will CO flights count as:

"Valid for roundtrip Saver Award travel on United- and United Express-operated flights worldwide, but not on flights operated by other airlines. "

No, I am sure that there will be no Continental metal flights operated by United before Dec 15th. The merger is definitely not final, until they operate onder one certificate there will still be Continental flights and United flights.
