I was told by CSR that sometimes if space is available you will be offered a FC upgrade ( at a $$ cost) for domestic flights when you check-in on line....has this happened to any of you?

Yes - before I was Silver Elite. Once for $75 IND-AUS (I took it!) and once $50 for Mem-AUS (I declined this one because I had the exit row and it is a short flight.) In the MEM-AUS flight they also announced that upgrade at the gate and I saw Moms with babys9? kids under 2 yrs old) pay for the upgrade).
Now that I am Elite the upgrades come frequently!

It happened a couple of times with either CP or AC (can't remember) coming from HNL to YVR.
Held firm, once got upgraded another time not.
I thought that this was a common occurance, but have not been able to buy upgrades at the gate since then.
