I can't help you out with restaurant recommendations because I traveled in a large group & we dined at the hotels.
The cuisine is typically mediterranean, with chicken, lamb, fish, & lots of vegetables & fruits. It would be vegeterian friendly.
Some of the breakfast items were tuna salad, cheeses, ripe & green olives, as well as some of the usual breakfast fare (exclusive of bacon, of course).

I would never imagine to speak with the Hebrew and what about does jewish law in Israel?
I'm assuming that you mean that you don't speak Hebrew & are concerned about a language barrier? Don't worry, English is widely spoken everywhere in Israel.

Have a wonderful time.

Tel Aviv has all kinds of restaurants - from excellent seafood to typical mediterranean and from fancy to worker's lunchrooms. Please define what interests you more and I'll be happy to assist you with my favorites.

Quality of ingredients in Israel is generally much better than it is in the US - no preservatives, better-tasting fruit, etc. If you like mediterranean food you'll find plenty of it. I found that a shewarmah for lunch will do you just fine.

It will certainly be very HOT in July, so be prepared for that.

Where to go: Start out with MiniIsrael - that shows a lot of what Israel has to offer. You can then decide the specifics of where you would like to go. There is a lot of ancient and modern history in Israel and many historical places. There arejust as many modern places that will be worth your visit. These depend on your mobility and the amount of time you have. Please post more details and we'll suggest some places to visit.

The main languages in Israel are Hebrew, Arabic, English and Russian. If you know 1.5 of those, you'll be just fine!

In terms of terrorism - look out for suspicious activity, don't leave your bags anywhere as they will be promptly destroyed. I don't think you should worry about security as I found that most ordinary people don't worry about it. You have a much better chance of getting into an accident than of being affected by any sort of security-related issues. Do expect to be searched when you enter malls and other public places (metal detectors, etc.) but usually speaking English and looking American will greatly reduce the number of searches.

Tel Aviv is a "24-hour city" that doesn't close on Shabbat. Jerusalem (and most other places), on the other hand, does close on weekends.

You may be in for a culture shock as the culture is different.

Have fun and enjoy the trip!

Upon entry to any public place (including all hotels, shopping malls and most restaurants), you will be searched - either go via a "airport style" magnometer gate or be searched by a manual machine. Your bags will be briefly searched as well.

In general, you don't "look out" for terrorism. If you do this, you will never leave home or go to any public place.

Thumbs up Israel in July

You may also consider visiting Haifa, which is a northern city in Isdrael . If you drive ( which isvery simple , just follow road #2 ) it may take an hour or so . The city hasabeautifull beach , not very crowded comparing to Tel Aviv , Mt. Carmel is a nice place for camping , if this is what you like .

Enjoy your staying.

Ok, Guys and I just got emailing from travel agent after she gave us out information about on the tour in Israel and here it is:

July 9 Arrive in Israel - you will be met and transferred to the Renaissance Hotel in Tel Aviv (Marriott)
Time to go for a swimm and walk on the beach.

July 10 Free day in Tel Aviv to get rested

July 11 Meet with your guide and drive along the Mediterranean to Caesarea, go to Alona Park where you will enjoy a "wet walk" in the underground tunnels of Mei Kedem. Go to Zichron for a break and have lunch on the pedestrian and artistical street of Zichron. Then, you will go to Acre to visit the Crusaders Hall and the ancient port. Return to Tel Aviv.

July 12 Today, meet with your guide and go to the Eilah Valley to visit Beit Guvrin and Tel Maresha (you can even participate in a "dig for a day" at the archeological site with the professional team). Then we go to "Mini Israel and Latrun - the armored troops museum (outdoors) and back to Tel Aviv.

July 13 Today you will go to the Old City of Jerusalem and visit the Tower of David. Walk on the ramparts to the Jewish Quarter of the Old city and on to the Western Wall and the Davidson Center. Of course we must make a stop at the Time Elevator before we go back to Tel Aviv.

July 14 Today we go North to Beit Alpha and go a Kibbutz - then we go to to the natural pools and waterfall at the Sachne (Gan Hashalosha) and back to Tel Aviv.

July 15 Free day and transfer to the airport.
Well, we have several go on the tour in Israel and it would be good time for us on the tour.

Regards!
