Yes ! A very long standing service. Anything can happen to any aircraft any day which could result in a cancellation or delay... but you'd expect this to operate as usual

You can see the flight history here: https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ba85

Generally the performance seems fairly good.

Any individual flight can be delayed, but looking at the history of BA85 it seems reasonably punctual. Very difficult to give more help than that.

All I would add - is some days there is a LGW service too, however I'd be inclined to pick the LHR service

We would be travelling from Newcastle to Heathrow firat, so Heathrow would be the best option.
Are the aircraft used good, silly question I know.

Enjoy the views too!

Going to Vancouver sitting on the right hand side IIRC affords wonderful views of The Rockies etc. but it's been a few years since I was there and have extended family there whom I've visited about 5 or 6 times.

Vancouver is currently served by the A350, so yes, good aircraft

Which would be the best economy seat on this plane, away from the engine noise etc

It's not a noisy aircraft, in fact along with the A380 it's about the quietest longhaul around. But to answer your question, it's probably row 55 and beyond, though that's a bit more prone to turbulence by being nearer the tail.
