Two Baggage Handlers Plead Guilty to Stealing From Passengers

Chris Arthur Perry, 25, and Gregory Paul Wingard, 27, plead guilty Wednesday to stealing items from passengers’ luggage for nearly two years.
Perry and Wingard stole money and electronics among other items from December 2013 to June 2015 and sold them to the general public through avenues such as pawn shops. When their sentencing is determined on March 16, 2016, the two could receive up to five years in prison.

Was it Norfolk? As a former ground handler, I know this happens. But not as much as people might think. If you don't want anything stolen, don't pack it. People who pack laptops, medication, thousands of dollars in jewellery, CASH...to me that's foolish. You can chose to wrap your bags, though I think that's a bit much. You can lock your bags, then you'll know if they've truly been tampered with. Pack only things you can live without and that aren't valuable. In the event you need to pack valuables, due to their size, itemize them, better yet take pictures, lock/wrap your bag then if anything still happens you have the strongest pilferage claim possible. Liquor is a common stolen item, because people can often think they've just forgotten to pack it, or making a pilferage claim for a $25 bottle of vodka isn't really worth it. All that being said, I've never had anything stolen OR broken, and I willingly throw my bag onto luggage belts. It's all about the way you pack and what you pack folks.
Would it be too much to add the location? At the "Norfolk International Airport" is only a few more keystrokes and much more informative.
