Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic Double, received single King room on 14th floor which had a nice view. This was a one night stay booked using Chase free night.

How are the rooms?
Decent. It is an old hotel, so I was not expecting everything to be shiny and new.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not use.

What was good and what was bad?
The good:
- We've stayed here before and like the location. We also like going to the Top of the Mark at the end of our night on the town.
- Old school charm of the hotel.

The bad:
- Parking is too expensive. We parked 2 blocks away at the Masonic for $45 (overnight), which is also self-park, which I prefer to valet.

Did not dine at the restaurants, except for an appetizer ordered at Top of the Mark.

The ugly:
- While opening the door to the safe in my room, the whole thing just fell off the wall ! It bruised my wrist as I was fumbling the thing to the floor - it is heavy. Told the front desk on check-out but only received an apology (of sorts).

Value for $ or IHG One Points? Would you return?
Excellent value for a Chase free night. No extra fees charged, and $20 AMB F&B credit was deducted. Will definitely return.
