I think you enter it here: https://www.fairmont.com/my-fpc/my-profile/ ... but I have not been successful in getting it to work - when I enter the promotion code, I get an error message that it's an invalid code ...

You need three nights for Platinum status. Once you get the three nights posted to your account, just call the FPC number and tell them, and they'll bump you up.

My first 3 nights this year were all Domestic and I re-qualified.

Log in to your Altitude account. Select "My Partner Offers" and then select Fairmont.

But this year the wording indicates that the status is only valid in the year the status was earned...
"Eligible stays must be completed by September 30, 2015. Be sure to add your code to your profile before August 31, 2015. Platinum Status will be valid through the end of the 2015 Fairmont President's Club program year."
