Q: Why will Altitude Elite 75K, Elite 50K and Elite 35K members no longer enjoy the privilege of eUpgrade Nominees?
A: Feedback from Altitude members indicated that while the ability to share upgrades to the Business Class cabin with eUpgrade Nominees was valuable, the ability to upgrade any single travel companion on the day of departure which was previously possible prior to the launch of eUpgrades was preferred. This change will allow all Altitude members to share their upgrade privilege with one companion on the day of departure and, in addition to this, Altitude Super Elite 100K members will continue to enjoy the privilege of two eUpgrade Nominees.
Just wondering: Where did AC get this feedback from? I have not seen anything on FT to indicate that we want this change.

AC management has made a decision that it is financial advantageous to significantly cut back on upgrades (and they may be right) - hence the loss of nominees, the co-pays etc. Why they can't just be honest and say that is beyond me.

I actually like that change. I've been flying with someone on a different PNR a few times where I would have liked to upgrade them, but didn't want to use a nominee slot.
This just means I'll be able to actually sit with friends and colleagues on flights more, which actually benefits me, the frequent flyer, as opposed to whomever I choose to nominate.

I'll tell you this: AC actively monitors this forum, those that used to be very active years ago. Whenever a "loophole" was discovered, published and bragged about on FT/bloggers (and now RFD), it would soon be closed.
Countdown until:
-Introductions of spend requirement
-Removal of mileage runs a la Delta (miles based on price), so no more YYZ-YOW-YUL-YEG-YYC-YVR-SFO-LAX
-Dilution of mini-RTWs award
Soon it will be no longer who "flies" the most, but who spends the most.

I agree that we represent a drop in the bucket. However, we are also likely the ones that gaming the system more than others.

The only "mileage run" I have ever done for RDM was Earn Your Wings.
I have done several actual mileage runs for AQM, and Delta's changes don't affect that.
I have no problem with a spend requirement, but I'd rather it be "instead of" AQM rather than "in addition to". Then I could stop the crazy routings
