Wowza! What a fun weekend that was!

As I sit here typing this post on my first low-key night in a little while, I am truly sad that the Do (and weekend) is over. It was so nice to see everyone again, but it was also nice to finally meet some of you in person after over two years on the Virtual Do. Friday evening's pre-Do activities were quite interesting, to say the least, but it was a great bit of fun in advance of the main event. Saturday morning's excursion up Signal Hill for the east coast crowd was great, though it nearly led to canopus27 death in the process. Our afternoon trip to the Newfoundland Distillery Company in Clarke's Beach was a great little outing for the group with the Gunpowder and Rose rum being a favourite for our resident rum expert canadiancow. To our surprise and delight, YYC3722 showed up at the Delta about 30 minutes prior to the dinner having just come off the flight with Adam Smith (I guess the waitlist cleared? though we were still missing expert7700). We all had a great dinner at the Merchant Tavern before once again heading out onto George Street. Unfortunately, we were a few hours late for the screech-in ceremony at Christians, so I guess you will all just have to come back next summer and try again.

Earlier this evening, Nitehawk and I took a hike up Signal Hill, which I guess was the official end of the weekend's activities given that he was the last man standing!

Thank you all for coming to the rock! I am already looking forward to the next YYT Do. Also, I will be sending along some photos to attendees via the email thread shortly.

codfather decided to go to bed...

Don't forget that I did not have the advantage of being on PDT.

Sleeping? That looks more like "passed out".

Oh well, at least he has his shirt on.

Unlike Friday night where the staff said we had to put our shirts back on.

It was an awesome do, with amazing weather - thanks for organizing it, codfather

Saturday morning's excursion up Signal Hill for the east coast crowd was great, though it nearly led to canopus27 death in the process.
"Nearly" is another word for "didn't"

I think I prefer my (imagined) version of what happened versus whatever hangover-clouded reality canopus27 is propagating.

If I spot any missing limbs on the side of the hill when I'm there in a couple of weeks, I'll be sure to forward them to him. Via Air Canada Cargo, of course. And collect, of course.

Yes, much awesome. I think we may have to make it an annual thing, and even if codfather is off flying tourists deep into the hinternland, we apparently can tap codfather.

I think I've successfully locked into my brain one set of username/realname/faces. At one per do, maybe in 30 years I'll know y'all.

SJs Tourism will be pleased to know I'm planning a return. The FL crowd should be disappointed I'm motivated to start taking up MLL and R space on nonpurposeful travel.
