Feds considering airline insurance fund.

"The federal government is considering creating a new layer of protection -- including an industry-financed "insurance" fund -- for consumers who lose money when airlines go out of business, after tens of thousands of passengers were left holding tickets for Jetsgo Corp. flights that never left the ground." And of course that's going to add another "fee" to our tickets of $5 t0 $10! And all for what? Nobody took a bath from JetsGo in that the credit card companies have agreed to erase/refund any unused tickets, and in order to buy a ticket on the JetsGo website, one had to use a credit card. And anyone using a TA would either be covered by their insurance program or the credit card companies. [Actually, we are all paying for this "protection" already because the credit card companies will pass the additional costs along to us in keeping interest rates high or adding another buck or two to the annual fees we pay!]

More government in our lives. Great.

How much is this going to cost?

This is...government overkill- probably someones idea as a way to show they are "really doing something about thsoe airlines". How about a simple education campaign- a simple brochure and a previso that if you buy a ticket for cash you must sign a waiver recognizing the risks- done, finished, minimal costs.
