What the **** is a ban? AC can't prevent their system from allowing changes but I guess they can put nasty notes on their (I'm sure a few of my PNRs have had nasty notes written about me....)
Days go by and you're still discussing this on FT. Do yourself a favour, go to the airport and see if you can get this resolved. If you're not willing to take the advice of folks here, there's nothing more anyone can do for you. Complaining and reposting the same info over and over again to all of us won't get you anywhere.

hello all.....
thanks for all your support and advice so far.
resgirl: my ticket was issued oct 2007. the return portion of YYZ -> YYJ was Nov 2007. However, I am getting conflicting advices from AC Res staff. Some say if I pay $52.50 (charged on Dec 12) i can forward the expired credit and use it for the SIN trip, some say its expired, some say the fact i bought the IAD trip in Sep 2008 allowed me to carry full amount for another year.
wolvie007: yeah, i feel like being screwed already because AC Res staff and their supervisor told me on phone that they placed a ban on my reservation, preventing me to ask anymore questions and make any form of modifications to my booking whatsoever. Without this ban i would heed the advice of regulars and go to the airport, but with this ban, i am skeptical what difference can airport ticketing staff really make?
Anyone ran into a ban situation like me before and really had their case resolved at the airport?
Please advise!
Thanks.

well i will drop by the airport after the holidays....
i dunno what ***** ban AC has on me... its the first time that i heard it too... Res claimed that their dept along with ticketing & rates dept decided not to follow-up on my ticket anymore since its so complicated. So will see what airport ticketing can do.
not trying to repeat and complain about it, but i wanna know whether other people have reached such a wall before with AC and how they got about to resolving it.
the bigger picture of whats bothering me is the fact they promise a customer a certain price and then charge otherwise, also they assure u will get a follow-up call / ticket, but nothing has acted unless you call them constantly.

Update
Kicked enough fuss online and with the media over this issue.......
Finally a Customer Care supervisor called me.... Told me even though they only deal with post-travel complaints (pre-travel complaints are handled by Reservations) the case was serious enough to warrant a higher-level review.
Re-did the itinieary from scratch with YYZ-> YVR + YYZ -> IAD -> YYZ (since the modifications via HKG and removed HKG and stopover HKG made previously were complicated) and guess what...the fare / tax difference should be $320, similar to what I was quoted initally.
So I got a $470 refund on top of the $125 earlier.
Credit card dispute transaction details also showed that the transactions, they revised it back via NRT / YVR between YYZ - SIN, but the fare was not updated and reflected YYZ-NRT-SIN-HKG-YYZ.
Wanna thank the supervisor at customer care (name withheld) and the media (outlets withheld)..... for helping me with this....
Total time spent on resolving.... 20+ hours!

Sorry for not responding sooner, I was away. The reason I asked the original issue date of the ticket was that a ticket is valid for 1 year from date of issue. The ticket validity extension must be done withing 30 days after the expiry of the ticket...in your case it would have been Nov2008 ( not sure of exact date in November 2008 as you didn't specify date in October 2007 ticket was issued. When a ticket extension is done.....travel is to commence within 90 of original expiration date of ticket (therefore within 90 days of the expiry of the ticket (Oct 2008). Travel would have had to start by January 2009 at the latest.
That was my reason for saying the ticket was expired. Assuming someone noticed that an error was made in allowing you to start travel in Feb2009...it would explain the reason for telling you that you cannot make any changes to the booking.

$29.75 per hour! Something worth fighting for!
RESGIRL: Somehow I was told otherwise (even by the supervisor), that because I added the YYZ-IAD-YYZ the entire ticket amount was brought over until Sep 2009. I am not an expert (cause I hardly change my trips) and I am merely relaying AC's message.
Credit card company extracted the transactions in detail (since I had filed an dispute) and found that they reversed my trip via HKG to via NRT, but failed to reverse the fare.
Now waitlisted for SSWU.
