I'm just always confused about the elite bonus miles. Take the example of BCN-FCO, the base of bonus miles, shouldn't it be 528*1.25? Otherwise, in some economy class, the bonus miles will be more than regular miles?

Elite bonus is 100% of the base miles - but it has an upper threshold of 100% of distance miles.

Let the distance flown be 1000 miles

if you have a 25% mileage earning fare you get 250 base miles plus 100% bonus miles = 500 miles total.

in case you have a 50% earning rate you earn 500 base miles plus 100% bonus miles = 1000 miles total

if you have a 75% earning rate you get 750 base miles plus 750 bonus miles = 1500 miles total

in case you have a 100% earning rate you get 1000 base miles plus 100% bonus miles = 2000 miles total

so when you have a earning rate of 125% % you earn 1250 base miles plus 1000 bonus miles (distance flown) = 2250 miles total

in case you have an earning rate of 150% you earn 1500 base miles plus 1000 bonus miles.

executive bonus miles will never be larger than the distance flown (or the minimum miles amount)

Thanks a lot, It's really clear now.

How far back can I claim miles for flights ticketed by ITA that were previously declined due to the program not being fully integrated yet?

I was able to confirm my upcoming AMS-ATH (~550 without code) is D and ATH-BCN (~360) is I. Due to OTA not able to confirm BCN-LIN but it looks like an I fare as well.

Unable to add FB number via app or web though.

Got my FB credit for the outbound flights in less than 24 hours. Love the relatively new ITA Hangar Lounge at FCO, by the way. Delicious Negronis!!

Yes the pizza are pretty good. But the ITA Hanger lounge seems small and cheaply furnished without much design consideration put into the space. It is also on the very far end of the terminal. You wouldn't think this is a national carrier's flag ship lounge. On the other hand, Plaza Premium lounge has the more central location and it is not even an airline lounge.

I'm flying on ITA tomorrow, but so far I haven't been able to add my Flying Blue number yet, I called the callcenter but they could not help me.
So I am curious as well on how you all managed to add it. I guess I will ask at the check in if they can help me.

Thanks!

Exactly what I tried, called the International number but the agent said it was not possible due to there being no agreement between Flying Blue and ITA.
Perhaps I just got unlucky with the wrong agent...

I also send the customer support an email a week ago but they didn't reply to me either.

Not a great first ITA experience so far

Hopefully the check in desk at AMS will be able to do it, but otherwise with a claim via flying blue for missing miles I should get the XP as well right?
