This is not due to Android, but the cellular carrier. The carrier needs to support Voice over Wi-Fi, and you need to enable it, which you can do in either Android or iOS.

So the code to login goes to the same place that you can "recover" your password? So secure! /s

It's ridiculous that at this point anybody would use email or SMS for MFA when app-based authenticators are so prevalent.

Is this for new accounts only? I don't see an option to enable 2FA on my account but do see 2FA in action on new AA accounts.

Email MFA (which I dislike) just started for my AA account. Anyway to disable it? Thank you.

Email two factor authentication just hit my account as of today. Maybe this is going out to the masses now? Like others who've chimed in here, I'd rather see the ability to use an authenticator app.

Only lasted a week or 2 for me, maybe it's random?

Is there a way to change the MFA method on your account? Right now, when I log in to my AA account on a new computer, it sends the code to my email. I want it to be sent to my phone instead. Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of. Text message MFA is much more insecure (and is also costly), which is why they haven't gone with it.

How do you enable any form of 2FA on your AA account?

You don't, it's enabled by default, and then requires a code from your email when you log in sometimes (from a new browser or location where you haven't logged in before)

Apparently not for all accounts. When they stopped asking for last name, mine has been username and password only, never any form of 2FA.

I'm unsure what specifically triggers it, but I always get it when I'm logging in while traveling. I haven't enabled it, and there isn't any setting on my account that I can see.
