Let's hope things begin to improve and if not we continue to press the FA's to follow company policy.

@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Limited #PDBServed

This allows all PDB service to be posted, good, bad, and otherwise. This should show AA that we feel this is a desired service. Maybe if someone gets energetic, a summary post could be done, maybe weekly?

1/4 on this route it was tray of water, OJ or sparkling wine (or both...). The sparkling wine was pretty nasty, and definitely needed the OJ. And with a nearly 90-minute MX delay at the gate, she only came through once. I know on the old CO there would have been constant refills.

SJU-MIA: OJ, Water, Champagne
MIA-JFK: No PDB whatsoever

Last Friday - DFW-MCI -PDB was "open bar" and a second round offered! I was surprised and had not seen this for a long time. Tina working F was truly exceptional throughout the entire flight. An exemplary employee for the new American Airlines. She told me she is 21 years with AA.

Sa 01/25 AA 1280 MIA-JFK, 763, usual water/OJ/sparkling wine/mimosa tray. Decent service for breakfast and during flight. Empty seats in F cabin.

Sa 01/25 AA 85 JFK-SFO, 763 (same tail as AA 1280), no PDB. Empty seats in F cabin (a shocker on AA 85). Even though we were trying to get off the gate early to de-ice, there was time to do PDB. Purser seemed engaged with passengers, FA on my side a little less so. Worst service of the 3 flights, but I'd say tolerable.

1/17 MIA-DFW 737 6:50pm: Water or OJ from the new FA in first. I was told the bar would be open once we're in flight.

JFK-LAS -- open bar
LAS-PHX (US) - open bar
PHX-SAN (US) - open bar
SAN-JFK - nothing - FAs also filled the forward coat closet w their bags so there was no room for hanging bags; friendly but did absolute minimum. Boarding was finished about 10 minutes early and we left early. I asked for a coffee on the ground and was told it wouldn't be made until airborne. All with a smile.

ORD-LGA on 2/20: open bar of anything you wanted. i suspect that's because they were thinking it would be too rough to do any service during the flight which ended up being the case.

Company policy is a beverage of choice on most flights. Flights that are over international water (TATL, TPAC, Hawaii) and most South American destinations have bonded liquor and as a result are only allowed juice water and (duty paid) sparkling wine. Flagship flights also get sparkling wine, juice, water.

That said there are times when catering isn't yet available and perhaps only OJ and water are the only things available. Of course there are also plenty of times when it is simply a lazy flight attendant. Sure there also times when operational issues prevent a pre-departure service but those are exceptions to the rule.

Is a non-existent pre-departure service the end of the world? No. But it's something you expect and something you pay for so go ahead and write a complaint letter (not being sarcastic). That's the only way things get fixed unfortunately.

The PDB inconsistency and the quality (or lack thereof) of the sparkling wine I have been offered as PDB are the two items I am consider the "weak links" in the AA Domestic First service. The sparkling wine (which is some sort of cheap Italian Prosecco) really needs to be replaced with something better, there are several CA Champagne houses like Piper Heidsieck which are inexpensive and taste a hell of a lot better than that stuff.

I much prefer American's Domestic First to Delta but the one thing I will say is that Delta is far more consistent with PDB availability.

One last comment on the PDB subject, if the decision is made to not do PDBs (whether for legitimate reason or just laziness) they should at least hand out a bottle water to everyone instead of nothing.

Flew OGG/DFW/ORD 3/1-2. No PDB offered in F on either flight. The OGG flight no beverage for 45 minutes after takeoff. The wasabi salmon was good and I got 4 hours sleep but service was the worst I have ever experienced on AA. The DFW departure was a rush to beat an ice storm, service was wonderful in the air.

JFK-LAX on 3/1: F Class and all they tried to offer was water/OJ. I said, Champagne (yes, i know it's technically sparkling wine)? The FA said I'll check and came back with it. Really? in F Class on this route?
LAX-SJD on 3/1: Open Bar (must have been a lot of misconnects because based on the seat map this flight should have been full in J but went out with only 6 up front).
SJD-LAX on 3/5: water/OJ, I asked for a G&T and got it happily.
LAX-JFK on 3/5: J class, OJ/Water/Champagne (after a 3 hour mx delay on the new A321T)

Two flights yesterday:

AA 1343 CLT-DFW A-319: Full PDB ^^
AA 1049 DFW-RDU MD-80: No PDB

On the second flight we were full and a bit delayed due to late crew so it's somewhat excusable but still annoying, especially as I'd flown a US CR7 that morning that was full and late and got a PDB.
