The manicured trees around the Imperial Palace complex.

The Sakurada Tatsumi Yagura watch tower at the Imperial Palace.

A grabbed photo looking south with downtown Tokyo at the bottom: the Imperial Palace is the green area with the main station to the left beneath the coloured canopies. (BA8 HND-LHR 20/7/2024)

A few minutes before landing at London City today. Colourful skyscrapers on a promontory.

A few from yesterday's BWI-LHR:
Nighttime view down the Chesapeake Bay - Annapolis on the right, Kent Island on the left and the Bay Bridge linking the two. Lights down the middle are moored merchant vessels.

Portsmouth - with QE and PoW alongside.

The City of London with the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, The Shard... etc.

Westminster

Expanse of Hyde Park, with Regents Park upper middle right.

Very clear photos of London. Mine usually look hazy through the glass. Did you open the window to take them?

I used to when in a Cessna (not when I had the plane though!).
All the photos were from my Samsung phone except the City of London which was my Nikon 5300. The phone is actually very good, particularly for handiness, and any poorer quality really isn't noticed due to the layers of glass of the airplane windows. The windows here were on a 777 - I've noticed that some airplanes have terrible window quality - even when clean: I don't know if it's because of being a composite (i.e. glass/plastic/glass)?

View from pearl club Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm

Hi,

Couple of photos of the palm looking towards the marina area and Atlantis from the 5th floor balcony of the Pearl Club at the WA Dubai palm

View from Balcony. sofitel houses to the left and family pool in foreground

View towards Atlantis palm dubai . Family pool to the left, adult pool to right. Looks like Atlantis had a teathered sightseeing balloon observation deck that ascended and decended

Burj Kalifa and part of Dubai mall taken just after sunset

Regards

Some from my recent Naples trip - first, flight photos:

Boarding at Naples was via stairs....

Coming into LHR over London (bit blurry taken on my phone) - so good for the authorities to colour code the sights - purple is the London Eye, Red are the Houses of Parliament, long orange buildings are of the Royal Society along Pall Mall.

...and Naples would not be Naples without Vesuvius... with a nice cumulus cloud atop (don't panic!)

And Naples from Vesuvius:
