BA in the media | 2016 thread
This thread is for the myriad news stories involving BA that will inevitably be brought before the public’s eye during the year ahead. So if you’d like to share a gripping article published by the Daily Mail or a Z celebrity rant on Twitter this the thread for you.
I’ll start with this gem from today’s DM:
TV hypnotist Paul McKenna 'launched into a rant and made flight attendant cry after he was refused booze' on board British Airways flight from London to Barbados
Whatta spanner

BA on BBC Test Match Special twice
So during the first test between South Africa and England at Durban, ex-England spinner and commentator Graeme Swann sung the praises of BA's service to Johnannesburg (before heading to Durban) and the flying environment of the A380.
The second test starting today in Cape Town, ex-England cricket legend Geoffrey Boycott criticised BA for losing (I think) his wife's suitcase. He wasn't impressed!

Not impressed indeed - it also reminds me of a 'famous' judge who complained rather loudly about bags going missing in his air cargo price fixing case last year.

Passenger threatens to blow up BA flight to Dubai
Five British Airways crew were forced to restrain a passenger after he went berserk onboard a flight to Dubai, claiming he had a bomb and he was going to blow it up.

Thought for the other passengers as even knowing that it is 99% chance of being sheer madness, it must have been very worrying on the account of that remaining 1%.

Well done to the crew ^ I am sure somewhat concerning for the other passengers onboard, but glad the situation was handled without incident, and everyone was safe.

He started say he had a bomb and would blow up the plane after he'd been restrained and handcuffed. Worthless drivel.

According to the Mirror they person who did this has already been released by the Dubai police. I hope that BA ban them for life.

Even if he already been restrained, I'm willing to bet the situation didn't seem worthless at the time if you happened to be one of the other passengers. Kudos, as others have said, to the crew members who dealt with this. I, personally, certainly wouldn't have wanted to be on the plane at the time, although I'd like to think I'd have assisted the crew if they needed it.
