BA.com - no direct flights from London to BGO or SVG [suspended from 28 Oct 2017]

I'm hoping this is an IT glitch but yesterday I priced up an exEU from SVG-HKG. Today I have searched again and it has gone completely from all the online flight booking sites.

I just went to the BA website and tried a dummy booking to both SVG and BGO from LHR and the response was that BA do not fly direct to either.

Have I missed an announcement to say both have been dropped, or is this an IT glitch?

Hoping it's the latter or there are going to be a lot of very upset fellow exEU travellers.

The routes are suspended from 28 October. Rebooking options found here.

That's a shame- I guess SK will raise their fares on SVG. Not much alternative other than to route via AMS with KL.

Bit of a tragedy this, both great back to back locations but clearly they have fallen victim to the downturn in the upstream oil industry. Perhaps they will return for summer 2018.

That's a real shame. Although I did an out and back Stavanger last year and both flights were very quiet (30-odd in total).

Both suspended, that is quite unfortunate. I have enjoyed visiting both places a few times over the years.

I've booked several trips from SVG to HKG in PE on CX via LHR. Assuming these suspensions become permanent, are there any other options for a cheap starting point?

Generally an exNorway fare should apply starting at OSL as well as SVG/BGO.

If it's a BA ticket you can probably negotiate a London start point in a day or two (Contact Centre staff traditionally find out this sort of thing via Flyertalk...). If it's a CX ticket, well you best check their policies in the CX forum

I can't get in to this website. Any chance you can publish the page in full?

Also, just checked MMB and my return SVG-LHR in November is still showing. I guess it just a matter of time. Myflights App also not flagged anything.

Select a country, then select "I don't have an IATA number".

Sad But with just one daily flight, with less than ideal departure and arrival times, I am not surprised. BA could no doubt have done more to promote these destinations, but I suppose they weren't really interested.

This could make a fun little jaunt for anyone looking to rebook:

Very sad to see the loss of SVG.
Best ever B2B, esp with fares to Oz. I suspect my days of Gold are numbered ...

BGO & SVG... old BMI routes.

Those flights are full for people opting to fly via LHR to their destinations. Why would BA want to cancel them?

I guess I better fly to BGO before it gets canned...
