This also seems to be the case on our 777 PDX-LHR in afew weeks where F is blocked on the seat map and also Expert Flyer. I guess crew could be dead heading?

To be fair it depends on the way how you advertise it, QR do lots of last minute fleet swap where people would be downgraded from Qsuites to a classic J seat. In those situations, you can contact customer service and they will be able to amend your journey because of equipment swap. But it would be interesting to see BA to actually do that...

No, I doubt it will be used by crew, it's far more likely to be a normal FLUB arrangement, which happens day in, day out on the 787 fleet in particular.

My flight from IAH to LHR later this month on the 787-10 in F just got switched to the old 777. Was really looking forward to newer seat and aircraft.

It was showing as a 781 on my May booking from YYZ initially, changed to 788 then 789 then 781 and is currently at 789. I have 7A as my seat for the last 3 changes so I still have the unimpeded access from the window but I'm quite sure the day of the flight the 788 shows up. I know that the 781 does actually fly the YYZ route on rare occasions but I'm sure it will always be a unicorn for me even though I thought the East Coast TATL were what BA intended it for
Expert Flyer alerts are a godsend

Possibly has something to do with G-ZBLE being delivered late. Was due today. But its delayed further.

Some new 787-10 routes start in the winter:

BA113/114 - New York JFK

BA74/75 - Lagos

all other winter routes, are/have been existing -10 routes

Poster 1309 did raise the concern on the 787 coming to less equipped airports in sub Saharan Africa, a good sign that the 787 can operate out of such airports and BA intends to use it that way.

more indication that the 200ER will be phased out for the -10

Does the -10 have enough Club Suite(s) for a premium JFK route?

The only interesting bit is the increase in Y seating vs the B777-200ER’s that currently serve the route.

B781 - 8F / 48J / 35W / 165Y
B772 - 8F / 49J / 40W / 138Y

also significant as this is the first aircraft jfk has gotten out of the 747/777 stranglehold for many years and the current 777 stranglehold

I’m hoping and expecting it will grow as more 787s join the fleet and 200ERs get older

Another new route:

Riyadh - 5 times a week.

Lagos and JFK are daily

As we know, WT on a 787 isn’t particular fun.

Two days ago I booked a BAH/TP run hybrid for December - the final sector JFK-LHR BA114 - F was available for £150pp extra compared to J. A bargain even before considering the 70 extra TPs doubled to 140. I was surprised when the seat map said it's the 787-10. Upgrade over 777 I'd say.

I suspect more -10s will take over JFK 200ERs as more frames are delivered in the coming years
