Catch up time

BA327 CDG-LHR Supper

My chicken was moist and succulent. A welcome snack after a turbulent day. No menus but as memory serves it was some Vegan Delicacy so my choice was unsurprising

30 JUN LHR - SOF. Lunch

After having spent some time in the CX Flounge and enjoyed the view, the Champagne and lunch; I was not particularly hungry. However, I had the cottage pie and it was so good. I was greedy and gobbled t it all up. The excellent crew worked very hard as there was something like 44 people in club. Everything was most enjoyable

I asked what they had to drink and they said 'everything'. Not knowing what that meant I just went for water. So essentially I got better service on a delayed ET yesterday than CE today. In the grand scheme of things I know this means nothing given IT outage etc, but is it worth following up on at all? After all, this was a paid CE ticket (albeit to get my status back).

Any views on that?
Definitely worth a complaint IMHO. The why's and wherefore's don't particularly matter as far as I'm concerned - you paid for a meal (it's an advertised part of the Club Europe offering) and didn't receive that. I'd anticipate 5-10k Avios in view of the typical fare/Avios difference to CE.

Yep, it was the purser I think - made the announcement before take off. As soon as they were released they came out and asked what drinks we wanted and gve us a tiny packet of salted nuts, then closed the curtain.

4 rows of CE on the flight.

I guess I'll complain, because that was my flight to get the 600 TP I needed for Silver, so I guess to be certain I get those I'll just follow up with a short feedback message. It was my first ever CE experience - LH eco as a senator even gives better service than that on their FRA-BRU flights which are about the same length.

Serving drinks and snacks but no meal seems very strange to me, the crew obviously had operated other flights and had a very long day but I cannot see how they could take rest on a BRU flight?

just landed from BRU-LHR and heard the same announcement. I was confused, but assumed that was for economy?

9/12 seats filled in CE and it was only drinks and snack mix.

My first time in CE, and was not impressed.

There's been a handful of flights today and yesterday that didn't get catered properly, or rather, were awaiting the catering - ultimately resulting in further delays. All this caused by the increase in delays and knock on effects of the so called IT disruption. Now, some of these flights inevitably left without the.re-catering, or atleast with just a top up of ET snacks. The rest of the catering was "re-shipped". i.e bars used from a previous sector, rather than the fresh recatering sets BA usually receive on UK turnarounds.

With crew on very strict operating limits and with the added disruption, many crew will have probably been close to limits and were most likely instructed by BA ops to go without waiting for the catering. This option preferred, rather than running out of hours and most likely having the flights cancelled due to lack of standby crew. Ofcourse this will impact the customer experience, but ultimately getting on the way and keeping people moving is a much bigger part of the expectation for the majority.

If this was the case with the above mentioned BRU flight, then the crew really should have had the decency to explain this more clearly for people to understand. Ofcourse that particular flight may have actually had a different reason, but it makes little sense to me. If they offered a drink, its just as easy to serve up a meal tray. Especially with such a small cabin.

Never heard of this for Euro flights in over 30 years of flying on BA! If the crew needed to rest, were they saying they were actually out of hours and/or unfit to fly?

LIS - LHR Band 3 Evening flight

The pork was, as usual, particularly un-crispy, but tasty.

Note the off-menu dessert on the pork tray. This was the dessert served on the outbound.

CE service had an off-menu crew member, who :

- was surreptitiously chewing gum while doing the safety demo at the front of the CE cabin
- paid rather more attention to some passengers than others
- dropped some food onto the shorts of a passenger, and proceeded to try and remove the stain with a napkin and vodka
- de-foiled the hot dish right in front of the passengers face, then dropped the foil into the passengers lap
- left the lids on the plastic pots
- [TRIGGER WARNING for those forum members who are towards the “How could anyone possibly do that ?????” end of the spectrum] : placed the meal tray on the table rotated so the main dish was at the back, and the starter/dessert/cheese at the front.

MAH (Mahon/Menorca) to LGW today. I’d ordered a Hindu meal as it’s normally a nice curry. However this wasn’t loaded, apparently because the 24 hours notice for ordering stated in the app is wrong, and actually it’s 48 hours notice required or 72 hours for a Kosher meal (anyone heard this before? The app accepted my request which was about 30 hours before the flight. The crew told me this happens often and they will feed it back. All my future Gatwick flights say 24 hours notice needed).

Anyway; one of the onboard meal choices was a chicken curry so I had that and it was delicious. Actually I think the spiciest curry I’ve ever had onboard an aircraft. The starter was some grain thing and the dessert was a small banoffee pot.
