The Ritz-Carlton Rewards VISA Infinite card was closed for applications in July 2018. The only way to obtain the Ritz card now is to Product Change from a Chase Bonvoy Bountiful or Boundless card, which must be open for a full year to be eligible for Product Change. Upgrades from free Chase Bonvoy Bold will not succeed UNLESS (a) the Bold card was obtained as a downgrade from another Chase Bonvoy card, (b) Or if you convert Bold to Boundless or Bountiful before switching once more to Ritz-Carlton within a few days of the product change (reports here)

Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.
AS upgrades from coach to premium coach or first work.

DP: I submitted a secure message to request $300 travel credit for early 2023 travel incidentals but was denied. A week later, I called in and spoke to an agent and they approved it.
FWIW, the overseas agents who answer the phone from the Ritz phone number (855-896-2222) are clueless af. I ended up calling the number on the back of my Freedom card and they were much more helpful.

mia has the terms in their post here
Annual credit will be issued for the calendar year in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if you pay baggage fees at the end of 2018, and the airline does not post the transaction until 2019, the cost of the baggage fees will be allocated towards your 2019 calendar year maximum of $300.

That table purports to summarize the Official reimbursement eligible expenses. The list is published by Chase here, click on the link to footnote 11. The authentic list includes six items. The author of the blog article has mistakenly added a seventh item, which is a separate benefit:
11 $300 Annual Travel Credit: To request a statement credit to apply towards qualifying airline incidental purchase(s) made with your Ritz-Carlton Credit Card, you must contact J.P. Morgan Priority Services at the number on the back of your Ritz-Carlton Credit Card within 4 billing cycles of the purchase date. Only the following types of non-ticket purchases qualify for this offer: airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight Internet/entertainment; in-flight meals. Purchases are when you, or an authorized user, use a Ritz-Carlton credit card to make purchases of products and services, minus returns or refunds. Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won’t count and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being of a certain type. However, we do reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for statement credits. Statement credit will post to your account within 5-7 business days and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles. Qualifying purchases made by authorized users on your account are eligible for statement credits; however, only the obligor on the account, not authorized users, may request statement credits. Maximum statement credit accumulation for this offer is $300 per calendar year. Annual credit will be issued for the calendar year in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if you pay baggage fees at the end of 2018, and the airline does not post the transaction until 2019, the cost of the baggage fees will be allocated towards your 2019 calendar year maximum of $300. Marriott Bonvoy is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or a failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

If I currently have the Ritz-Carlton card, and I want to get the Brilliant for the sign on bonus. Can I
1. PC Ritz-Carlton to the plain Bonvoy
2. Wait 30 days
3. Apply for Brilliant
4. Hit spend and wait for sign on bonus to post
5. PC plain Bonvoy back to Ritz-Carlton
Or is there a simpler way to do this?

Question for all the experts here
I wanted to get the ritz card for the 85k fna but i had no chase marriott cards so last year i opened a few with plans to upgrade this year and get the 85k however they didn't let me upgrade until a full 12 months had passed and by that time i already had gotten the 35k fna from boundless . Incidentally i did get the 3 club awards that same day but no 85k and all the reps are telling me that i need to wait another year for the 85k is that true?
the reaso i ask is because my friend who had the old marriott rewards card for years upgraded b4 his renewal and got the 85k right away without having to wait another year so I'm thinking that really as long as you upgrade b4 the renewal date you will get the 85k the first year just when its a new card they happen to not let you upgrade b4 the renewal so it ends up being only the 2nd year that you get the 85k fna by default but in that case it would make sense to wait until closer to the 2nd year boundless renewal and upgrade a month b4 or so so you can get the travel credit but why pay for a whole af for first year of upgrade if anyways not getting 85k fna?

Card act does not allow banks to charge you a higher annual fee in the first 12 months of opening a credit line. For Chase, this means they block all upgrades until after the first anniversary, which means there's no point in upgrading to Ritz until close to second anniversary, or close to December for the airline incidental credit

- Will the FNC continued to be issued around 4/15 every year, the anniversary of the original Boundless card approval ?
- Will be full annual fee billed on 11/10 (or better the 1st of the following month, i.e. 12/1) or will a partial annual fee be billed on 12/1 and then from 5/1 (the 1st after 4/15) onward ?
In this example, would it have been possible to upgrade on 4/17/24 before annual fee is billed on 5/1/24 to get the 85k FNC as the renewal fee will be for the RC product ?
