Discussion of the discontinued Sears MasterCards which earn ThankYou Points has been moved to a separate thread, HERE.

Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your “Credit Home” page, and find “Available Credit” at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says “Request Increase” to begin the process.

can someone remind me if the bonus points (after meeting the promos) post after statement closed, or is it after every last day of calendar month, regardless of statement closed date?

i am starting to get confused with bonus points tracking

Quick DP on a CLI (didnt see any recent posts so figured I'd share), but was denied a CLI in April due to too many inquiries (can't remember the exact totals, but I did have 2 in March, denied for both cards), and just requested a CLI with frozen credit report (also 2 inquiries in July, also denied...), and was auto approved 4k -> 6k

For me the first offer I had which was the $1000+ online spend, the $70 suddenly showed as being credited on June 15 when the statement closed July 16.
I remember checking quite frequently and not seeing the $70 until the statement closed. I was expecting the $70 statement credit to be posted on July 16.

I am sitting here waiting for the $150 statement credit for the $1000+ GGR offer for the month of July. I am guessing I won't see it until August 19.

Same here.
No email. No text. No warning.
Good thing the card didn't get lost in the mail.

How long have you had the card? I am in my 5th month.

Did the new card change the MasterCard level, from standard to World or World Elite?

I had an old, no rewards, Sears MC. I was not allowed to get SYW MC. Application was rejected for that reason and was not allowed to close the old card to get approved. Ended up closing the old card, and applied a few days later for SWY MC and was approved.

Earn 200,000 Bonus Shop Your Way® Points
when you make eligible online purchases totaling $750 or more on your Shop Your Way Mastercard® from 8/15/24 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 9/14/24 for this offer1.

Its been so long since I had this offer that I am going to have to go back and figure out the rules again for this and how I fulfilled this when I last had this type of offer.

Edit:
I looked back at my emails and the last time I had an online purchase offer was the period ending Feb 15.

I haven't been using the cards other than three small grocery purchases for the monthly SYW mission. My only other offers have been the ongoing entertainment one (but I'm using Freedom for that this quarter) and Utilities, but I don't have $400 in utilities a month to qualify and use US bank for my small charges.

Got the $70 statement credit for $1,000 online spend this month. Next month (if the past 4 months hold true) will get the 250,000 SYW for $1,000 online spend. At least for me they go back and forth.
