Once you reach Gold, it's only 38K/yr to requalify. To get there the first time, you either Comp, or earn 57K EQM (IIRC). After you have flown 55K EQM as a Gold, your EQMs convert to RDMs. Since you earn 300% Base RDM & EQM on F fares (including cheap UA Q-UPs), you can earn 600% of base mileage on F fares! At that point, I can generally fly F cheaper (on a cpm basis) than Y. ^
