Access with 1-way ticket
I have an actual lounge question!

I have a one way ticket on Delta CLT-JFK, purchased with miles. I can upgrade to 1st for $60. I have an economy ticket 4.5 hours later on a Delta/Air France code share JFK-ORY purchased through Delta with Delta AmEx Gold.. Last year I purchased Delta lounge access for a 5 hour layover at JFK with my AmEx.. If I upgrade my one-way ticket to First, would I have access to the lounge without paying? I'm happy to pay again, but not sure if I'd have pay again, or I'd have access with the 1st class ticket, even though my next ticket is economy?
(Yes, I know lounge access is 1/3 the price of the upgrade, but I'm just trying to find out if I'd have access with the ticket or not)

No, First Class on the domestic segment won't get you lounge access. You would have to upgrade the international flight to business class. Alternatively, if you have SkyTeam Elite Plus status (DL Gold equivalent or higher), you would have free access.

When if your flight? The AmEx Gold is losing the ability to purchase SkyClub access in January.

NO but note also that the AF flight departs from a different terminal at JFK, not connected airside, with no DL lounge there. AF (plus KLM and KE) does have a nice lounge at JFK T1, but it's only accessible to those with international SkyTeam tickets either in premium cabins or with ElitePlus (DL GM+) status.

The JFK AF and KE lounges are also both in Priority Pass, so that's an option. AF is only open in the morning and late at night to PP, but KE seems to fill the afternoon/evening gap.
