Thanks, everyone. Today is challenging, and I'm giving serious consideration to working from home tomorrow so as not to have to people.

That sounds like a prudent course of action. I hope that you're holding up okay. We are all thinking of you.

I like how you used “people” as a verb there

If the Sky Club opens at 4:30am at LAX, can we assume we can checkin with luggage at around that time or is that super early opening time for people with connections and not new people who checked in?

If a plane is headed south at 536mph, and dog is running west/southwest at 3km, what time are we having breakfast?

Oh, sorry, you are using this thread to ask something serious?

Domestic or International from LAX? Makes a diff. Desk opening for check-in not directly tied to SC hours.

Kipper, I think it's a good idea to at least work from home. This week is a Mulligan for most folks anyways. What about just taking the day off, full stop?

And, gold star for creative languaging.

Tuesday is a short day for lots of people working (or it morphs into a holiday party) in offices and I would expect lots of people to take the day off on Thursday and Friday. Next week isn't much different, with the 31st being a short day and the 1st a holiday for most people. Working parents might be forced to take vacation or work from home if young kids are out of school and don't have alternative arrangements during this period.

OTOH, is it good to hibernate at home for so many days, in principle about two weeks between official holidays, closing early days, and days when lots of people take vacation or otherwise don't come into work?

Of course, a lot depends on your employer's culture and norms about people in positions like yours working from home, as well as the current workload of tight deadlines or projects that would be facilitated by fact-to-face collaboration.

BTW, to people? To language? I'm still becoming accustomed (should I say accustoming?) to gift being a verb.

Worse is people who use "inbox" as a verb for "sending email" I have also seen "send us an inbox" as an unholy figure of speech for "send us an email"

I've only seen people use that for Facebook messenger. Why they can't just say "message us" or "send us a message" is beyond me.

I'm going to go in to work, at least for a bit. I have PT tomorrow morning, and it's by my office, so I'll go in for at least the morning.

I thought about it, and I probably would, except my boss is out for the next two weeks, so I'm the most senior person there. As far as office politics, I should be there.

It isn't good for me to hibernate at home from now until January. I'll go in to work for at least a bit tomorrow and I need to be there on Tuesday (which is an early day). I also should be there on Thursday and Friday.

Morning, or something like that.

I decided that I'm working for a half day and then I'm heading home. Generalissimo Geno hasn't eaten his kibble since Friday night, so now I'm worried about him too. I assume it is just his way of grieving, but...

I spent today in the city delivering bottles of champagne to my dad's business partners. It was better than sitting around doing nothing, but I'm tired!
