lol

turns out we actually cancelled that trip because I found SEA-CDG for 60k AS miles +$19, J on an Air Tahiti Nui 789 — flew it yesterday

unsurprisingly, the same comment applies

Tempting, but I'm not sure that paying me $285 is enough to get me to board a CR2.

The Devil's Chariot is Back!

Someone want to speculate on this one? is DL really bringing back the CRJ 200 after promising they were done? N936EV one was ferried from TUS to DTW yesterday and this looks like it was it's first flight in quite some time.

Looks like a CR2 is coming back into service . N936EV, owned and operated by OO, has arrived at DTW to fly some short routes from there, according to this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/delta/comme.../shes_baaaack/ .

For some verification, FlightAware & FR24 confirm the plane recently repositioned to DTW from TUS but aren't yet showing any revenue flights for the bird:

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n936ev

Will monitor.

DTW-APN appears to have been swapped back to a CR7.

If you try to look up DTW-ESC on Delta's website, it shows sold out (maybe it's overbooked? Or maybe the site bugs out because it's an aircraft type no longer in the system?) and the Details and Seats links are broken in that they're not clickable. The Flight Status page, although buggy, confirms it's just "CRJ"

Flightaware is showing it as a CR2, but no tail number assigned.

The 10am DTW-APN is still available for purchase, and associated seat map shows a CR2. The latter 2pm DTW-APN flight is a CR7.

The 10 am is now boarding and per flightradar is 936EV, a CR2. Flightstats and flightradar don't have a tail yet. Interested to hear why this is happening and to see what is next!

Man they could've washed the plane at least so the exterior doesn't look filthy and have dirt stains running down from every window... Makes me wonder just how bad the interior condition is.

It looks like DTW-APN (am flight) and DTW-ESC are on a CR2 through July 1, disappear for a few days, and then go to the CR7.

Sounds like this is a stopgap solution until the first CR5s enter service on July 1.

It does sound like that but it is an awfully short window to bring a plane back back into service.

Response from SkyWest:

"As we continue to transition our CRJ550 fleet and to ensure adequate fleet resources during the busy summer travel season, SkyWest may utilize the CRJ200 in some Delta Connection markets in June and July on an as-needed basis. All associated aircraft substitutions are temporary in nature and will not affect flight schedules or frequencies."
