It is good to be back home eating pastrami sandwiches with sour and half-sour pickles freshly brought back from Katzs Deli in New York.
My home is currently the best delicatessen in the entire state of Georgia but it wont be for long, as those sandwiches will be gone very soon...

Well, just because of the kind of folks we are here in The Lounge™, I thought some of us might be interested in knowing that there will be a 2007 Tales of the Cocktail.
It's in New Orleans from July 18-22 and is self-described as:
Now, aside from the fact that it is held in the middle of July, when the temps are in the mid-90's and so is the humidity, it sounds like not a bad party.
This is their official cocktail from 2006 (although I do wonder about the avocado and cilantro flavours):
Rum Baja Martini
(Michael Brewer)
2 oz Bacardi White Rum
1 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Lime Juice
2 oz Pineapple Juice
2 slices avocado
4 sprigs cilantro
1 oz Malibu Coconut Rum
Mix juices and muddle with cilantro and avocado. Add Bacardi and Malibu. Chill with ice and strain in martini glass.
It's in New Orleans from July 18-22 and is self-described as:
Tales of the Cocktail, a culinary and cocktail festival, allows the connoisseur or amateur to fully experience (taste, see and learn about) cocktail culture in New Orleans and around the world.
The event’s annual components are Spirited Dinners, a Seminar Series, Cocktail Hour, Cocktail Luncheons, walking tours of the French Quarter, and classic and contemporary cocktail parties -- all presented by the country’s hottest chefs, authors, bartenders and cocktail experts.
Tales of the Cocktail has “shaken and stirred” the New Orleans French Quarter since 2002, and celebrates its fifth anniversary in July 2007.

I just wonder about the particular mix of ingredients in that cocktail, but hey, maybe I'll just have to try one?
Oh and I think I do remember our first encounter, Canarsie... I seem to recall that you used your hands to remove something of mine.....

Dov, did you see Kat on Ugly Betty tonight?
Is this show any good? It's the first time I watched it and I wasn't impressed. I only watched it so I could tease Dov about how hot Kat looked.

firephoenix, I have a 13 hour flight TLV-ATL on Feb 16. Although (believe it or not) I will be sitting in Biz, I am very concerned about the inflight entertainment. Is there any chance of you working that flight and providing me with some?
(If so, please feel free to ignore the "no mini-skirt" rules.)

Is there an FT Thread Rating Agency? If so, does this thread have an NC-17 rating, an R rating, or a PG-13 rating. Or is it just drinking age? And what is the drinking age in Canada?
