Hey Gargoyle - I saw that the US Snow Sculpting Championship was this weekend in Lake Geneva. Since its not far from your studio, I was wondering if you ever entered the event. It would be a little different from your normal marble or limestone.

Sure, I was in SoCal last week and it wasn't anything close to warm until Wednesday and that was marginal at best.

No one ever believes me.
I am about 50 yards from the Atlantic Ocean in Melbourne, Florida. I think I will jump in the ocean to warm up. On second thought, I am not going to do that.

I do that quite a bit actually. It seems mostly in the fall when it about 65 degrees and sunny.

Nope, no snow or ice sculpting for me. I've been using pneumatic tools for decades (they were introduced for carving stone in the 1880's), and those are hard on the circulation of the fingers. So I avoid sticking my hands into cold. It could be interesting tho, since I have this mindset of thinking of in multiple centuries for durability of my work, instead of hours or days as is the case with ice and snow scupture.

It was sunny here. And the themometer reading at ORD this morning was about -11 F (-23 C). I own lots of pairs of gloves.

Have to admit that is the BEST part of coming home, those two furry faces that meet me at the door!!!! No matter what else is going on in the world they are always happy to see me walk in the door!!!! Pets rule!!!

That is really, really, really too much information for those of us at FlyerTalk.

How many pairs of gloves do you wear at a time. Is there an advantage of owning lots of pairs of them? I suppose it is slightly desirable to owning lots of singles of them...especially if they are all of the same hand.

You could always head back to The Disclaimer restaurant in Bainbridge, New York.

You know — that is the place where they warn you that you are not ordering a filet mignon, but they do not warn you that you will not get scallops with your order even though that is a main ingredient.

The wait to go over the mighty Susquehanna River bridge into central Bainbridge is even longer than attempting to go from Ciudad Juΰrez to El Paso.
