C is for chest pain, perhaps car-d-iac

D is for dental decay and decline

E is for eyesight, can't read the top line

F is for fissures and fluid retention

G is for gas which I'd rather not mention.

H is for high blood pressure--I'd rather it low

I is for incisions with scars you can show

J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend

K is for knees that crack when they bend.

L is for libido, what happened to sex?

M is for memory, I forget what comes next

N is for neuralgia in nerves way down low,

O is for osteo, the bones that don't grow

P is for prescriptions, I have quite a few

just give me a pill and I'll be good as new!

Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu?

R is for reflux, one meal turns to two.

S is for sleepless nights counting my fears

T is for tinnitus, there's bells in my ears!

CHOLULA survived all the symptoms his body's deployed
And he is keeping twenty-six doctors fully employed.

Thankfully, only three apply to me:

E for glasses/contacts

G of which I'm proud ( pull my finger )

M if I recall correctly

But run the list by me next year as I'm sure to add a few more.

Yacht Racing, Anyone?

It's the Swiftsure International Yacht Race here today (and into tomorrow).

I walked over to Clover Point to see the start of some of the races and took a few photos.

Here's a cluster at the starting point.

Here's a nice little sailboat.

They had some wind to start the race.

I have a bet on Marda Gras winning the Swiftsure Lightship Classic, my friend is betting on Neptune's Car. From what I can tell, they are both doing pretty well.

(I know less than zero about sailing, and I have a hard time understanding the different races and ship classes. Anyone who can translate some of the race info would be more than welcome.)

If I had some falernum, I would make this to celebrate later when my ship comes in. Hahahaha!!!!

Royal Bermuda (Yacht Club) Cocktail

1 3/4 oz Barbados rum
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/4 oz Cointreau (6 dashes)
1/4 tsp sugar (1 dash)
1/4 oz falernum (6 dashes)

Shake in iced cocktail shaker & strain.
Serve in a cocktail glass (4.5 oz)

Nice pics, Abby!

What don't you understand? Sail around the course and beat the others across the finish line. Different classes/types of boats are handicapped when racing against one another, so the first across the finish line may not win.

Well, I think I understand that, so maybe I don't need to know any more!!! Hahahaha!!!

I guess I am interested in more details on the classes of ships, and what kinds of strategies can be used. Obviously some factors are beyond control (amount of wind) and one would assume that bigger ships and more/bigger sails would be capable of higher speeds, but maybe I'm missing something.....

I should go to the big aprθs-race party tomorrow night and I'm sure I will find lots of people willing to tell me all their tales..... besides, I think they might need an extra bartender....

Edited to add: I'm now starting to read up on sailing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailing

But I'm still afraid I would end up like this. (See the yellow figure in the water?)

That doesn't bother me as much as the blue figure.

That's sh/e who is underwater and dropping like a stone.

Wink

Please see above.

The blue figure is underwater and dropping like a rock.

You can't see the blue figure unless you're Superwoman and have x-ray vision.

And since you can't see the blue figure, you're not Superwoman.

Which means the blue figure is in a world of hurt.
