Had to happen sooner or later. Sorry about that.

One consolation probably is that you'll be able to take off some of the weight you put on eating Rosie's (and your own) cooking for the past weeks.

Actually I celebrated Father's day yesterday, grilled some ribeyes, tenderized them, seasoned them, and let them rest with some crushed basil leaves. Then I seared them on the infrared cooker on the grill, came out perfectly. Pink, but not extremely bloody, juicy and tender.

And Rosie made some delicious Puerto Rican rice, that was amazing.

Today I had Wendy's for dinner

Yes - and so do a lot of other festivals.

http://milwaukee.about.com/od/festivals/a/festivals.htm

From Summerfest to Indian Summer, here's a listing of Milwaukee's world-class festivals and art walks. Sample everything from schnitzel to spanikopita; watch Irish jigs and martial arts; don your lederhosen and sombrero. It's summer in Milwaukee. Featuring fireworks just about every weekend from June to September.

RiverSplash!
June 1-3, 2007 in Downtown Milwaukee, along the river. This festival marks the official start of summer in Milwaukee.

Pridefest
June 8-10, 2007 at Henry Maier Festival Park. The largest gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered event in the state.

Lakefront Festival of the Arts
June 15-17, 2007. Held right in front of the Calatrava expansion to the Milwaukee Art Museum, this festival features the juried work of over 160 national artists. Get free admission to the Museum.

Polish Fest
June 22-24, 2007 at Henry Maier Festival Park. Holy Peirogi! If you missed your paczki on Fat Tuesday, head down to Maier Festival Park for Polish food, culture, and entertainment.

Summerfest
June 28-July 8, 2007. The Big Gig. Each year, more than one million attendees drink beer, eat fried egg plant, and generally whoop it up at this 11-day event. Featuring both top name entertainers and unknowns on 13 stages, Summerfest also offers children's activities, amusement park rides, water shows, and shopping.

Bastille Days
July 12-15, 2007. Storm the Bastille, enjoy une crepe, visit a replica of the Eiffle Tower, or harass a mime. Just watch out for the enourmous puppets. Held in the streets near Cathedral Square; absolutely free.

The Great Circus Parade
From 1963 to 2003, this parade of 75 historic circus wagons made its way once a year from the Circus World Museum in Baraboo to Milwaukee, passing through downtown on its way to the lakefront. Not so anymore. You'll have to go to Baraboo.

Festa Italiana
July 19-22, 2007. A festival you can't refuse. I mean, really great food and entertainment.

German Fest
July 27-29, 2007. Schnitzel, lederhosen, sheepshead, beer. What more do you need?

African World Festival
August 3-5, 2007. Celebrates African and African-American culture with a weekend of food, dancing, entertainment, and more.

Wisconsin State Fair - Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, West Allis -
August 2-12, 2007. More barnyard animals than you can shake a stick at. Watch sheep get sheared, check out the cows, catch some music. Just don't forget to get your creampuff! And be sure to stop at the New Berlin Lions Corn Roast Stand for your hot buttered roasted sweet corn (with Cholula.)

Arab World Fest
August 10-12, 2007. Grab some falafel and practice your belly dancing! The Arab World Fest celebrates Middle Eastern culture with food, entertainment, dancing, and more.

Irish Fest
August 16-19, 2007. The world's largest Irish cultural festival. Learn to play the tin whistle, eat hearty stew, watch the Trinity Dancers, and drink lots of Guiness. You can enter your child in the red hair contest, but look out - my niece is going to win next year. Held at Maier Park.

Mexican Fiesta
August 24-26, 2007. Plenty of food, mariachi, and fiesta for all. What began as a small celebration in the Walker's Point neighborhood has grown to the midwest's largest Mexican festival. Held at Henry Maier Festival Park.

Indian Summer
September 7-9, 2007. Indian Summer comes a little early in Milwaukee. Celebrating both contemporary and traditional Native American culture, this festival showcases Native American artists and entertainers. Don't miss the competition Pow-Wow.

My iPod got STOLEN. My GPS quit working after I had driven 40 miles down the interstate in perfectly clear weather. My Audi TT sometimes pops the trunk when I close the driver door.

What happened? Were you driving faster than it could recalculate the position???

(I won't even venture a wild guess re. the trunk.)
