You ain't kidding! I had a truly unbelievable brief exchange going on just last night in a certain DL Forum thread which ended in the thread being closed. I wasnted to respond, but am now thankful I was not given the opportunity. It's better that way.

Really sad what's going on in the Delta forum lately. I think we're just too polite here. We try to argue our point in a civil way and allow lots of negativity to go unchallenged. People who need to spread their anger in public must find it cathartic in some way to rant in the presence of strangers, but I think it's making the Delta forum a very negative place. The airline is just NOT that bad and even if it was...why not just vote with their wallets instead of ranting here? Which is likely to change things quicker?

And why would that be? Are you trading in traveling to DTW for just hanging out in El Paso with nothing doing there except family? Or has aomebody like Northwest made you a better offer?

I might be using the company's travel agency in the future, and their preferred carriers are AA and CO

I have to use our corporate travel agency too, and believe me, there are ways around everything. (Like using the TA and still getting the flights/airlines you want).

You could do a LOT worse than CO...they're not so bad. Have your travel patterns changed significantly? If not, your CO flights can still be credited to DL if that's where you prefer to accrue for award travel.

It's too negative. I never thought the day would come when I'd rather see 20 new Amex threads a day.

I've traveled to DTW on CO, and it ain't bad, and I can still accumulate DL miles, but most of the time they are at 1/2 MQMs, and no upgrades

I haven't looked at flying to GRR with CO though

But the bright side is that it looks like the job will continue for a bit. Earlier you were concerned that it would not last maybe even this long.

No question, it IS negative. However, much of the negativity is coming from newbie posters who are just passing through. They'll post their rant, get whatever satisfaction they can from the "misery loves company crowd", and then fade into obscurity. You, on the other hand, are a fixture out there and will be around long after the one-hit-wonders come and go.

Just try this...convince yourself that if everyone who is so down on Delta would actually take their business elsewhere, there would be more of everything left on Delta for the regulars (us). Once you convince yourself, make it your mission to help convince others that the only way to make Delta change is for them to take their business elsewhere (ranting accomplishes nothing meaningful). Mentally, it's a winner! ^
