I know exactly where they are taking you because those two restaurants which are essentially across the street (actually the Outer Loop) from each other are less than a half mile from our project out there and I have been to each of them for lunch many times. Buckhead is another local chain and they do make a decent Hot Brown. And quite a large one at that. Kudos to you for ordering the local dish but I have not yet seen your report on Derby Pie.

I didn't see it on the menu

And I am getting old, I was only able to finish 1/2 the sandwich

Tomorrow I am on my own for dinner, what's a good place that has the Derby Pie?

Driving is not a problem

Let me echo monitor and congratulate you for going local! Truly local establishments; however, call it simply a Hot Brown. No need to add "Kentucky" to such a local dish unless they're marketing to out-a-towners.

A quite decent local place that is moderately priced and always has Derby Pie would be the Bristol. There are four or five of them scattered around and the easiest for an out of towner to find would be downtown or Jeffersonville.

I do know that the one I've been using lately, in Jeffersonville in the Sheraton Hotel not only has the Derby Pie, but until the end of this month is selling its wines with no markups from wine store prices. This is, to me, a good deal but meaningless to jfe unless there are colleagues who would like to grab that offer.

Mikey I totally don't get all your whining about segments. I thought I would love them, but the reality is I just qualified for next year on miles while I was still about 10 segments short. Living out of a hub city segments are kinda useless.

The scary part is that living out of a hub city I still qualified in the 3rd quarter. If I had been still doing BGM this year I would have been almost double Plat by now.

I need a slave and a life!!!! Anyone interested in a job?

You fly longer flights that I did. (I have only been on a plane for 2 Rts this year)

Without segment credit, short haul folk don't stand a chance.

Except for #12 this seems accurate to me

THE RULES OF THE SOUTH ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.

2. Turn your cap right, your head isn't crooked.

3. Let's get this straight; it's called a "gravel road." I drive a pickup
truck because I want to. No matter how slow you drive, you're going to get
dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.

4. They are cattle. That's why they smell to you. They smell like money to
us. Get over it. Don't like it? I-40 goes east and west, I-75 goes north and
south. Pick one.

5. So you have a $60,000 car. We're impressed. We have $250,000 cotton
strippers that are driven only 3 weeks a year.

6. So every person in the south waves. It's called being friendly. Try to
understand the concept.

7. If that cell phone rings while a bunch of doves are coming in, we WILL
shoot it out of your hand. You better hope you don't have it up to your ear
at the time.

8. Yeah, we eat catfish &; crawfish. You really want sushi & caviar? It's
available at the corner bait shop.

9. The "Opener" refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious
holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November.

10. We open doors for women. That is applied to all women, regardless of
age.

11. No, there's no "vegetarian special" on the menu. Order steak. Or you can
order the Chef's Salad and pick off the 2 pounds of ham & turkey.

12. When we fill out a table, there are three main dishes: meats,
vegetables, and breads. We use three spices: salt, pepper, and ketchup! Oh,
yeah.... We don't care what you folks in Cincinnati call that stuff you
eat... IT AIN'T REAL CHILI!!

13. You bring "coke" into my house, it better be brown, wet and served over
ice. You bring "Mary Jane" into my house, she better be cute, know how to
shoot, drive a truck, and have long hair. ( don't you love
it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

14. College and High School Football is as important here as the Lakers and
the Knicks, and a dang site more fun to watch.

15. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards -- it spooks
the fish...

16. Colleges? We have them all over. We have State Universities ,
Universities, and Vo-techs. They come outta there with an education plus a
love for God and country, and they still wave at everybody when they come
for the holidays..

17. We have more folks in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. So don't
mess with us. If you do, you will get whupped by the best.

18. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump___ ain't music,
anyway... We don't want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers!
Refer back to #1!

This may be old, but I've never heard it before:

Farmer goes into a pharmacy. Tells the pharmacist that he would like to buy a condom with pesticide.

The pharmacist replies, "Oh, no. You must mean you want one with spermicide."

The farmer replied, "No, pesticide. My wife's got a bug up her backside and I'm gonna go get it."

A good portion of my year has been MSP-FAR, you dont get a lot shorter flights than that. A few longer hauls balanced it out though.

I thought people were making fun of my weight, when they told me that I should go to Mark's Feed Store for dinner.

It was very close to work, so decided to try some BBQ, and will have to try the Derby pie somewhere else

It was OK, liked the mustard sauce there.

Other than that, nothing spectacular

I could have told you that.

You know that I spend 30+ days a year in that town on an expense account and have tried just about everything there.
