A. I wanted to go to Boca but have to go to SAT for work on Sat.
B. I'm not freezing, as it's still 25 degrees. In fact, I just walked to the store to get a 6-pack of Newcastle.

In SAT, I recommend staying at either the Hyatt or Marriott (on the River), and for supper Las Canarias (which is on the river also).

Why wait 'til tomorrow evening? I'm hoping for an early check-in.

I'm pretty sure you can get to SAT from PBI, FLL or MIA on Saturday. So, should we expect you for Friday evening?

I am already there -- well, almost. I am at the Doubletree, which is about 50 yards from the Embassy Suites. I will be switching to the ES later today.

When you arrive, I will either have checked in already or be sitting in the lobby waiting to check in. I will then invite you to be my guest for lunch at a local restaurant which apparently specializes in Scottish food. It is called "McDonald's".

Enjoy yourself as I sit in Wisconsin and the balmy 10 degree weather.

(I will be in Naples next week so it will be better.)

Sounds like you'll have great weather - pack your swimsuit! If you can break through the ice, you might be able to get wet.

I am under orders from coworkers to bring warm weather back to STL with me. Think I can carry on or will I need to check a bag? (We had snow twice this week. Ick! - even if there wasn't much accumulation, it's nerve wracking when you're watching concrete cure.)

If you don't let anyone know, I'm sure the FAs would let you keep it as carry on.....Just make sure that you look innocent when someone asks why the overhead bin above your seat is glowing. :-::-::-::-:

out of curiosity... is any fast food chain really any better?

Any better at what? Chili?

I didn't say that their chili didn't taste good but just that their claim to saute their ground beef was a load of horse puckey.

I'm actually a big fan of fast food restaurants although I don't eat at them often. But McD's, Wendy's, Carl's Jr., KFC and several others run a very good operation IMO.

Why masters, have your instruments been in
Naples, that they speak i' the nose thus?

First Musician
How, sir, how!

Clown
Are these, I pray you, wind-instruments?

First Musician
Ay, marry, are they, sir.

Clown
O, thereby hangs a tail.

First Musician
Whereby hangs a tale, sir?

Clown
Marry. sir, by many a wind-instrument that I know.
But, masters, here's money for you: and the general
so likes your music, that he desires you, for love's
sake, to make no more noise with it.

First Musician
Well, sir, we will not.

Clown
If you have any music that may not be heard, to't
again: but, as they say to hear music the general
does not greatly care.

First Musician
We have none such, sir.

Clown
Then put up your pipes in your bag, for I'll away:
go; vanish into air; away!

Yeah, BK, Hardee's and Carl's still cook their burgers over an open flame, Wendy's still uses only fresh ground beef, etc.

These guys run good operations IMO. Not necessarily the most nutritious food you can buy but they're clean, dependable, affordable places to grab a bite to eat.

I'm staying in the Hyatt, then the Hyatt Place on the west side of the park, then the Hyatt again - saved $40 a night that way, plus I earn another Faster Free Night, another Mastercard bonus, 2 "G" bonuses, a SANT2K bonus, another Platinum bonus, etc. for personal use. Put the FFN and the four bonuses / platinum points together, and that's an "easy" two free nights earned.

I actually checked how much it would take to do that little re-route before posting my note in "Community" that I would like to attend but it wouldn't be good financially at this time of year; came out to $450 more before the hotel . . .
