Well, if you were serious about the offer, Modapa, I appreciate it as it is quite generous, but I am going to pass. Thank you!

However, I do have a proposal, and if anyone can successfully further tweak it for me to earn the maximum number of Delta Air Lines Medallion Qualification Miles for the least amount of cash, I will come down to South Florida.

Is this a deal?

If so, here is your assignment:

I just found out today that I need to be in Jackson, Mississippi for two days sometime next week. This could be any two consecutive days, from Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16.

The least expensive airfare I can find is US$276.90 between Atlanta and West Palm Beach on Delta Air Lines, and US$288.79 flying from West Palm Beach to Jackson, Mississippi and returning from Jackson to Miami. This is a total of US$565.69 for 3,230 Medallion Qualification Miles. Of course, the South Florida — Jackson round trip is nested within the Atlanta — West Palm Beach round trip.

I am willing to travel to far-flung places anywhere in the world in order to maximize the dollar-to-Medallion-Qualification-Mile ratio. I am willing to travel on weekends. Throw in as many stops along the way as possible. Put me on any SkyTeam partner airline, as long as it is not inexpensive Continental Airlines fares that only earn 50% Medallion Qualification Miles.

Rules:
  • I cannot take a flight before really late at night on Friday, December 9, as I already have something scheduled that evening.
  • The two days in Jackson, Mississippi must be consecutive and must occur during the week of Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16.
I cannot think of any other rules at the moment. Jackson, Mississippi (JAN) is not an easy destination with which to work.

I have already tried the incredible US$122.00 Atlanta — Meridien (MEI), Mississippi fare, but in order to qualify for that, I would have to fly there on December 10 and return on either December 12 or 13. That would cause me to miss South Florida. Flights to South Florida from Meridien were in excess of US$650.00, which negated the savings on the Atlanta — Meridien round-trip fare.

I would preferably like to know within the next few hours.

Let’s see how good you all really are — should you choose to accept this assignment...

What the Hell did he say????????????

So Dovster...don't keep us in suspense any longer.
Did you get wired or wireless high-speed internet in the Roach Coach Motel??

iCorp, is that offer valid for any of us Lounge Lizards or just Lehava. I have lots of special bands and am certainly not above groveling for tickets. Let me know how you take your grovel.

Hey...you need to read the 240 post thread that has erupted in shouting, hollering, screaming, spleen-venting, gut-wrenching, tooth-gnashing, finger-pointing and other assorted stuff in TS/S.
Pretty entertaining.

This is tough... and I'm not very good at it... getting from PBI-JAN is a big problem... Best I could find was 2 seperate trips: Dec 10-12 ATL-PBI for $216.89 and Dec 14-17 ATL-JAN for $233.40.

Aren't you supposed to be in bed, so you'll be rested for your flight tomorrow?

Maybe that's why it's been so quiet over here tonight.

My work, on the other hand, is expected to last 500 years or more, so it will pass through many hands. I view the owners as caretakers. I have no problem with them reselling it; I charge a fair price the first time around, and after that they take the responsibility and pleasure of living with it for a while, till they pass it on.

Unlike Garth, Gargoyle doesn't feel that the fact that they share it with others or re-sell it as being any skin (scales, wings?) off my back. Others can enjoy it without owing me anything.

Are you flying Delta?

Heavy snow in CVG may affect airplane positioning tommorrow.

Yeah...a DL 764 in seats 7 E & F.
And there will be no problem with the weather as they finished building the plane in LGB last night and are ferrying it to LAX.

PS: But maybe I'd better check the weather in the East and Midwest on second thought....
