Not for Springsteen in New Jersey - a very difficult ticket to be had. Especially one of the limited $33 seats. Even after all the TicketSlave fees, $50 is a cheap price for Springsteen in the Swamps of Jersey.

I just had to decide whether or not I though it was worthwhile to take all the screen captures necessary to document I was eligible for the current 5,000 mile promotion for a two-day rental through Avis. I even thought of just booking Hertz for $20 less, which would imply valuing the bonus miles at less than 0.4 cent per ...

What does that say about my faith in Avis honoring DL promotions after the multiple "situations" last year?

That is a great deal! I went to Springsteen in Atlanta in April - (got a ticket from a friend), we were way up in the rafters and the ticket was $95. T-shirts were $35. Good concert - enjoy!

I was going to actually *gasp* purchase a pair of tickets to take my mom to Eric Clapton next week in Jersey for her birthday. I just can't justify (especially when I'm so used to free) what will be $300+ all in when I add up everything involved. I'm sure she'll understand. Besides, I saw Clapton last year and my mom is old enough that if she hasn't caught him in concert by now...

Yeah? Issues with Avis posting? I'm a little nervous as their my 8th partner for the POM promo. I've never had issues, even from Tasmania rentals. I guess I've been lucky.

There was the debacle last year with the 9,999 bonus miles for no minimum rental, followed by them deciding to stop honoring the where2 promotion retroactively, plus some other mess. I got the 3 x 9,999 for the three one-day rentals as expected but was in the group that had to fight Avis/Budget for the where2 bonus on a later rental (e.g. through the BBB).

Avis this weekend will be my 8th as well (but I'm going to do a SkyMiles Dining just in case).

Oh yeah. I vaguely remember that. I took advantage of Budget more than once when they were doing their 5k promo. Had no problems.

I've buffered my count by one to be sure, but that hasn't posted yet, either (Liberty Mutual).

Have you bought your restaurant.com certificate with the 80% off code through the dry cleaning service yet? That posted in three days, cost me $1.20 or some such (4 miles!), and my best friend and I are actually going to use the certificate in LAS.

Looking back, I have about 4 x 7,500 on Budget as well ...

I actually used Thank You for dry cleaning and it's posted. Does that negate my LM quote as a unique partner?

Not based upon my reading - I was just making sure you took care of the cheap, low-hanging, and fast-posting fruit.

Cheers.

On another note, the insane fares to Europe this summer were too tempting to pass on, especially with all the bonuses. 35k+ miles BOS-ZRH for under $300. Thumbs up to that one!

The CO folks are burning up DL's new ZRH route as well. Sadly, it violates my "time spent in Y" rule.

Mine too, but to tell the truth, I really don't mind certain seats on the 757 and it's only a slight violation. For 35k+ miles I'll deal with it.

I and my travel partner have 18D+E both ways. Shouldn't be too bad, though I'm considering 19A+B, which are also available in both directions.

I'll be PM so I don't think I want to test those limits; I would also have a positioning flight which hurts the value ...

I'm flying BNA-LAS and actually considering the end-on-end version of BNA-MEM-BHM-CVG-LAS.

A round-trip itinerary between Nashville and Zurich is US$321.03 at www.delta.com and includes all taxes.

No positioning flight is necessary.
