You missed a great event, but I hope you made your flight & have a great weekend!
yeah, i wanted to at the very least be there for the q&a on yesterday, but alas deadlines moved around and next thing i knew i had this 1024 project move (that's what we call it when taking files from one test system to another) right on top of it combined with it being the same weekend as the wedding. there's a nice group of y'all that i would have really enjoyed meeting (and mending some fences).

i know josh didn't use the photo of me with zombie makeup (its pretty gross to say the least, but its part of the below linked set if you're curious), but i specifically took this one for y'all (so you've made it into my 365 day project):

no photo shopping, etc btw. just a long exposure. there's a couple clone photos in the set too.

Hi from 38,000 feet!

In flight on DL1707 BOS-SLC on N639DL. Wifi connection is good and the AVOD is flawless on this flight. Little bit of turbulence earlier but now it's smoothing out. Shall say hi in HNL, maybe in SLC. I officially dislike biscoff cookies - tried them today and they're disgusting IMHO.

Have fun today at the do!

Have a great time in HNL!

Ask the FA for a lime to squeeze onto the Biscoff. Your own little DL Key-Lime pie. (Well, I doubt they stock Key limes, but what do you expect at 38,000 ft?)

Thanks for the idea.

Pilot was on the intercom a second ago, telling us to look out the right side of the plane - great view of Chicago. Can see both ORD and MDW airports. Fantastic view...

Actually, I really like Biscoff. Then again, I am big on gingerbread.

That, however, does not help your problem -- so here is some advice which might:

1. Choose one FA and be very nice to her.

2. Tell her that you are very sorry that you were not born 10 years earlier, so you could ask her out. (It doesn't matter if she is 60 years old -- don't go above that 10 years. She will be thrilled to hear a 15-year-old say that she looks young enough to be dating someone who is 25). Then ask her if she has a sister about your age.

3. Tell her it is your birthday and you wanted to celebrate it while in flight but can't bring yourself to eat those Biscoffs.

You would be surprised at how often the galleys have other things hidden away in them. If you have followed my instructions carefully, and if there is anything good to eat on the plane (including in the FC galleys) she will get it for you.

(If you handle this really well, and if she does have a 15-year-old sister -- or daughter, or grand-daughter -- you may well also find yourself with a new girlfriend.)

You're so insane. I'd be posting a few others words but the FT TOS doesn't allow so.

Descending into SLC now. Giving an update probably in HNL.

On trans-oceanic flights, in BizElite, Delta gives out noise-canceling earphones which, IMHO, are much better than the expensive Sony set that I bought.

These are nothing at all like the cheap sets which they sell in Economy class on domestic flights. Delta is very careful with them and makes certain that each one is returned before the flight is over.

On one BizElite segment, in which I happened to get friendly with the FA, I told her how much I like the earphones and said I am tempted to steal a set someday.

She told me I didn't have to do that, and a short while later, when the lights were off in the plane, she came to my seat and slipped me a set that was still wrapped in the original plastic.

Still think I am insane?

You should post this in a seperate thread, complain about it and contemplate driving! Good luck.

Flights like that are when I consider calling the airline and asking what flight I'm going to be confirmed to depart on the next morning.

I had signed up for flight status notifications on one flight I had been scheduled to take before awful weather - 23 status changes were in my Inbox when I got up the next morning.

Sadly, the Thursday-Friday part was the sole deal-breaker - the VP was scheduled to be unavailable and we have a very strong chain-of-command where written organizational policy requires the AVP (me) to be in the office in those situations.
