All my UA-flying friends do nothing but complain about how .bomb is horrible. For all the ranting about .bomb that goes on in the UA forum, it's twenty times more entertaining to listen to people complain about it in person.

Well, here are the options (I don't believe MikeMpls is UA elite, so no free E+ there):
MCI - requires an E-170 on a 937 mile flight, then a CRJ-700 for 400 miles up to ORD.
BNA - requires ERJ-145s on IAD-BNA-ORD. 550 miles IAD-BNA, 400 BNA-ORD
GSO - same as BNA. 300 miles to GSO, 595 GSO-ORD
ROC - even more ERJ-145s!
SYR - in a true enhancement, MikeMpls would not only get to experience the ERJ-145 on SYR-ORD, but he'd also get the CRJ on IAD-SYR. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
PIT - CRJ to PIT, E-170 to ORD.
ATL - CR7 to ATL, E-170 to ORD.
In all cases, it's a 737-300 to MSP at the end of the night.
At least with those ERJ flights, they're thru flights so you won't misconnect in spend the night in GSO/ROC/BNA. MCI is just far out of the way and too long to spend on an RJ. At the end of the day, I'd probably just do one of the ERJ through flights solely for that reason.

I can be a UA elite whenever I want (once) by comping thru our corporate contract.

Given that I was using my CO number (where I am only a Trivia Winner and not an elite), I was thinking I had to wait until OLCI to get an exit row.
But fear not, for one of CO's best agents (works at the LAS PC) came to my rescue and plopped me down into 12A the other day. Just another reason why the LAS PC has hands-down the best staff of any lounge I've ever been to. No lounge I've ever been to can hold a candle to it.

But as Trivia Winners go, you're definitely in an elite class.
The UA itin already is showing a schedule change.

I am honored that you chose to post that milestone milepost in The Lounge™.For some bizarre reason, on the rare occasion I am a passenger on a United Airlines flight, I somehow usually score an Economy Plus seat, and usually without requesting it, even though I have absolutely no status on United Airlines or Star Alliance.
Go figure...

I think I've discovered what it's like to die & wake up in hell.
If I'm returning from Geneva, am I better off connecting from IAD thru PIT (Hell A) to ORD (Hell B) or thru ATL (Hell C) to ORD (Hell B)?
Besides PIT & ATL I have some other non-hellish but equally out of the way options in the form of Syracuse, Kansas City, Rochester, Nashville, Greensboro. All direct IAD-ORD routings w/ availability require overnighting somewhere.

ORD-ATL-MKE is 2554 MQM's, but it's a crapshoot- ORD-ATL could be a 737, an M88 or an E45, connecting to a CR9 to MKE.
I think my best bet is ORD-SLC-CVG-MKE, then rent a car, it's just takes 1:02 to drive to Lake Geneva. 6378 MQM's, but the CVG-MKE segments are on ERJ's. Still, that's a way better option than the 1:25 drive direct from my house to the destination.

We're going to Lake Geneva in a week. It seems Skyteam doesn't service Madison or Rockford, so I'll have to settle for MKE. Looking at my choices, I could fly ORD-MSP-MKE on 319's and D95, but that's just 2000 MQM's r/t.

Hell was unattainable:
...
The next time sometime tries to tell where I'm headed if I don't mend my ways, I can reply that I've tried but I'm not allowed to go there.
I guess ORD counts for something, but maybe that's just Purgatory.

I know that tjisnumbaone will, once he completely memorizes all of the airline schedules, fit his new airline right between the cracks left by Delta in the Southeast US and make a great success of it while charging the $50 a seat that that market can bear. By that time, he can probably get a deal on Delta's whole fleet of MD88s so he can emulate the original Florida Express by using only one obsolete aircraft type.

Not on that type of itin (4 UA segments trying to get from GVA to MSP in one day. ATL is too subject to ATC snarlups that foul short connectionss.
mersk682 was right about PIT though. My bad memories of PIT go back to a trip to London in late 2002 where all international transfers were routed through a single security line with a horrendous Christmas jamup.
I connect thru PIT in late 2007 on a UA/US iten for MSP-STL and PIT itself was a piece of cake. .bomb managed to mangle the reservation thoroughly. The US staff were real troopers on both the outbound & return in getting it patched.

Banc of America Investment Services strikes again. Automatic reinvestment of dividends has resulted in my "acquiring" negative shares of a security and lowering my tax basis:
That's the final straw ...
