So random that a microwave just explodes. Hope she is okay though! UA is going to probably have to sue Airbus for their faulty galleys. (This flight was an A320)

That's seriously messed up - definitely hope the FA recovers quickly. I've dealt with burning microwaves; there's a fire extinguisher pull tab in my teaching portfolio from having to put out a blazing one.

There was also another sick passenger on the flight, and lots of screaming babies, so UA gave them some sort of "appreciation" compensation cert.

So apartment saga update...
Go in and am told that the manager of the site (which is owned by a larger chain) can offer me what I'm paying in current rent. I tell him of the other apartment, with all the details on that and how they're pretty much the same, and I'd be willing to agree to take that apartment on the spot (rent is $190/mo cheaper). Said I'd sign all the papers that afternoon and be done with it.
He said he's meeting with the regional manager tomorrow and she's the one the could approve a lower rate. He said there's no reason that if they're going to turn it around and lease my apt out for $575/mo to go through the hassle of re-leasing that unit when the resident is moving intra-complex. But, we'll see what happens tomorrow in As the Apartment Turns...

The leasing company may actually be in what I refer to as the "quit being a moron" mode.

Mrs. Cornroaster and I got those on our UA flight from LHR to ORD in June. We were able to use the code and had 3000 UA miles added to our total. We got the certificates because the entertainment system wasn't working, so we got some of the miles back that we had cashed in, as we were also on a reward flight.

The flight arrived at SJU, I just spoke with my son. He said she was burned, but he didn't get the impression that it was very critical. Crew and paramedics weren't rushing, more that they were handling it as a routine caution. If I understood correctly she was taken out on a gurney. Lets hope it is minor.
There was also another sick passenger on the flight, and lots of screaming babies, so UA gave them some sort of "appreciation" compensation cert.

9 of the 10 are good, but number 8 used a bad example:
8. "Listen, captain, I think your attitude stinks!"
Maybe pilots are no longer paid a royal wage, but you better believe every one of them is still king (or queen) of the cockpit, so pick a fight with them at your peril. Just ask the flight attendant who dared argue with such a monarch on a flight from Sao Paulo to Chicago earlier this month. The pilot diverted the flight to Miami and then, allegedly, kicked the offending crew member off the plane.
