As for the progam next year, my gut tells me that Silver is going to stay at 25,000 MQMs or 30 segments...
Right. DL did break it up, so it's DL243/244 that go between ATL and LAX (the 777) and the LAX-SYD was still the same number. I know, NW does have a 1-stopper in DTW that continues to LAX.

IMHO, they should create a 5 tier system:

Bronze medallion: 15,000 MQM/20 segments - current Silver benefits
Silver medallion: 30,000 MQM/40 segments - current Gold benefits
Gold medallion: 60,000 MQM/65 segments - current PM benefits
Platnium medallion: 80,000 MQM/90 segments - newer benefits
Platnium Plus: 105,000 MQM/110 segments - highest and newest benefits

I would definitely qualify for that Bronze medallion. I got 13,000 or so MQM's in 2008.

Hmm. I'll pass on that for a few years. I suggest a general FT meet - LAS in late June of 2012.

And why limit yourself to BOS-PBI nonstop - an ATL connection is legal and nets 1491 MQMs. Heck, hope DL starts MEM-PBI nonstop, as MEM is a valid connection city. That would be 1961 MQMs each way.

Yeah, I was pricing it out and to see seat availability. Outbound was a Q fare, return was an A. At the summary page it asked me if I wanted to move up to FC for $142 more. Either all of the LUT fares have been sold or DL is not selling them - seatcounter has it zeroed down. Seat availability: 7 sold on outbound, I think there was more sold on the return.

Even in April on the return M88 is looking half full.

I would do ATL. Give me 2 hours and I'd be there. If CVG-PBI was actually on a decent aircraft (its on CR7) then I'd go there. Heck, if DL did SLC-PBI you'd see me there. I know they do SLC-FLL but my grandparents are closer to PBI. It would be a 12 hour pointless journey but sounds good to me. MEM would be okay too, actually I want to go there now. Looking at the gate maps application, it lists DL under terminal B. There is an Edy's ice cream place in there....

I could actually see myself in ATL. Relatives go down in April. If DL is cheaper than US or WN then they'd probably book it. But they are now hardcore WN'ers so the odds are that are slim.

I won't be on WN at all, or in particular any 737 classic aircraft, after that football hole thing.

I got all the permission I need. I just get the computer running, book it, enter her AMEX, she transfers the money from my bank account into hers since our 3 seperate accounts are linked. She drops me off outside of terminal A at approximately 5 AM, I go straight into the security line. (I am literally the master of TSA. I can prepare myself in 30 seconds.) After clearing security, I go down the tunnel and out to the satellite island, wait in the LONG line for DD, buy myself an apple juice and a donut (if in FC, skip DD), go to the gate, clearly remember the aircraft registration, board when my zone is called, get on the plane, go to the seat, put my suitcase in the bin overhead, and my backpack under the seat in front of me, enjoy my flight, wait patiently to exit the plane, leave the plane, walk out of the terminal, greet my grandparents right outside of the security area, and proceed to leave.

There should be a way of taking the LoungeTM posts and make them into a book. Less than five minutes in the Lounge and I am laughing. This place is probably better than any therapy using a Piled higher and Deeper type

As you may realize, I have extensive experience on flights from PBI and I advise you to hold tight for a while on next year's booking.

For South Florida, Delta has a sneaky way of trying to snag some higher fares in season from the unsuspecting (of which there are more than you might think) by zeroing out the cheapest fare buckets for a while and then, about two months before, opening up everything. I guess that their experience is that in two months during the season, they will sell an adequate number of seats on the Florida flights even by holding them out as I described.

They won't do this on all the flights all days but I have not figured out their picking and choosing algorithms.

Hey tjisnumbaone, how do I get my mother to pay for all of my travel? I gotta get some tips from the master because, clearly, paying out of pocket is the wrong way to go.

+1. And I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to travel that way...

I have no idea honestly. She scammed me this year by booking 2 award trips, because she switched jobs (she wants to switch again...) so I got scammed this year. But next year, 2 trips to PBI should be expected, possibly one trip either on MLK weekend or in July (more likely in July to CUN because one of my aunts turns 50), and one big trip (this time I think we are going international - SYD, BOM, or NRT). My mom has just got some $$ to spend.
