Under deeper analysis, it appears that classic wedge=widget and aged balsamic vinegar=the NW fleet.

He's just a Maverick, but his Vue brings an interesting aspect to a forum that can be so Cavalier at times.

Can the CRJ get any smaller? I'm waiting for my flight to YUL this evening at DTW, when they announced a change in equipment from the CRJ 50-seat to the 40-seat version.... However, they are offering 250 "delta dollars" and a flight on the next available flight into YUL--however, I did ask the G/A if it is possible to get me on the AC out of DTW, to which she said that it depends on what her supervisor tells her about rebooking.... so I may or may not give up my seat...

DL = Blue
NW = Red

50-40=10

10 X 250 = $2,500 bump money.

Any explained reason why there is an equipment change?

BTW just logging on now so thats why my post above contains posts from a few pages back...

I never minded the 40 seat RJ because there was only 1 seat on the A side. ^ I haven't been on this RJ in years, I forgot it existed.

Was there? On the ERJs there was (-135s had 37 seats, -145s 50), but the CRJs I think Rows 1, 2 and 13 were taken out. That being said, row 3 was heaven - plenty of legroom.

I'm honestly surprised that the 40-seat CRJ is still out there though - I haven't seen one since 2005, and I've flown my fair share of Comair and ASA CRJ-100s in the past 4 years...

I think you mean the ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 series...The CRJ series has a 2-2 configuration.

Isn't the CR1 being phased out?? Isn't the CR9 the replacement (combine 2 CR1's and get a CR9 - less fuel burned, one flight vs. 2, etc.)?

Some are thankfully being put out to pasture, but there's still plenty of these that will still be flying and won't be beer cans.

That's what I thought. Was looking at wikipedia yesterday, specifically under ASA, and it said that they operate only 1 of those CR1's.

Blue - My god what is with you and everyone else's alcoholic comments?

ASA technically operates the CRJ-200. A few different specs in terms of performance, but it's still the same old sardine can inside for the passengers.

And it's a lounge. After a long day, you come in, be comfortable and pop open an alcoholic beverage. (Though I currently am drinking a Coke).

Right, ASA operates over 100 of those...

Well I don't "pop open an alcoholic beverage." I may pop open a can of Hawaiian Punch, but that's it. Ironic how your talking about opening some alcohol but your drinking coke.

Reading this thread lately makes me want beer and bourbon, perhaps even at the same time.
