Though it would be strange to get into the office at noon and the only time I left it was to take the elevator four floors downstairs and grab pizza and soda from the Student Union cafeteria.
Opened doors for me as well. I was presented the opportunity to interview President Clinton but unfortunately it was during the spring break that I was in Japan (literally in the middle).

I enjoyed leaving the student center at 5/6/7 when people were walking back from the bars.... Had one GREAT story of searching for a missing golf cart at 5am and driving through Audubon Park... oh college.

I did not apply to Duke...and the school in Chapel Hill turned me down (as did an ACC school in Charlottesville).

I think everything worked out quite well for me though...(though had I gone to USC, I would have seen a BCS Championship - though the NCAA Soccer Championship was quite fun!)

Has anyone recently looked up the tuition for Georgetown Medical School? That is where my husband graduated from. I'm too tired and lazy to look it up.

Wiki has this on Georgetown Med:

Tuition is $41,356 for the 2007-2008 first year class while the total cost of attendance is roughly $71,000 a year, making Georgetown one of the priciest medical schools in the nation. In 2006-07, 85% of Georgetown medical students received financial aid.[9] The MD/PhD program is one of the few in the United States that does not offer full tuition remission for the MD-portion of the program, although tuition and a competitive stipend are provided for the PhD-portion.

mersk862 did the math for you...

While we are on the topic of college, if I make a decision to not go to college, who is entitled to my college savings fund?? Mentioned this to my mom a month or two ago about screwing college and applying to be a DL FA, and she said "If you don't go to college, I'm just going to take it and you'll end up working at McDonalds."

Wake was the only school that turned me down. I was accepted early by Tulane and was excited to go but parents would have none of it (something about college and New Orleans and the chance of me graduating). So I ended up at William and Mary. If it was good enough for Thomas Jefferson, it was good enough for me.

We haven't even been close to seeing a national championship trophy. Being the second oldest college in the country, you figured something would have come along.

Tuition alone is $42,803.

IIRC George Washington (where I got my MPH) and Boston University annually compete for the most expensive medical schools in the country. GWU: $47,269, BU $46,488.

I've forgotten the exact number by now, but when a coworker's wife graduated from the UMInn veterinary school a few years ago, she owed $80+K. Professional school have become extremely expensive.

Thanks for the replies. He, actually did get an M.D., Ph.D. (double Doc). The Ph.D. came a bit later. Undergrad degree was from GWU. Fortunately, he wasn't stuck with student loans. His parents were able to pay the tuitions. Although, high; surely, not as high as now.

That's the part that has me a little nervous if/when I choose to go back to school to get my MBA - costs are pretty exorbitant nowadays.

As we were discussing the "Ignore list" earlier I have figured out how.

1) Click on the user's public profile.
2) Once profile is loaded, click the "User Lists" drop down. This is located just below the User name on the profile page.
3) Click "Add to IGNORE LIST"
4) On the page asking "Add user XXXXX to ignore list" select "yes"

For reference, the user's posts will now be displayed this way:
"username" --> This message is hidden because "username" is on your ignore list.

Your mom keeps it and, per governmental rules, all money must be spent on her wellbeing.

Your mother does sound wise..... in this economy not going to college makes getting a job the provides a competitive salary difficult.

MBA programs aren't as bad price wise but I wouldn't plan on applying for 3-4 years as they generally want us just out of college or with 5+ years of work experience.

Luckily for me my undergrad was cheap so parents paid for my first Masters at GWU. I had to pay for my MBA myself at Pepperdine (currently $37,516 for tuition). The MBA is definitely an expensive investment (edit: with sometimes iffy return on investment.)
