I am certain that all of you are waiting with bated breath to find out what is new with me. This is especially true of Cholula who is a master of that skill.

For the past 48 hours, I have been snowbound with my UIG in her Swiss home. This is not as horrible a fate as it might seem because:

1. She has plenty of Ovalmatine in the house.

2. Although the tiny road leading up to it is too covered with snow to drive, we have been able to walk to a local cafe where we could get delicious hot chocolate.

The road is supposed to be ploughed today and we are debating whether or not to drive back to Milan when it is. I have a flight out late tomorrow afternoon and MXP is about equidistant from her Milanese and Swiss homes --and I would prefer staying here to avoid repacking anything. She would prefer leaving today to avoid driving me first to the airport (I can get a train from Milan).

I think the UIG is also a bit upset about something I kept saying repeatedly during a wonderful dream I had a few nights ago. I am finding it difficult to convince her that "Firephoenix" is simply German for "more Ovalmatine, please."

So Dov, have you asked the UIG to marry you?

Yes.

I asked her yesterday. In Thai.

Fortunately, she doesn't speak it.

Dov, there's a thread in OMNI about Krispy Kreme. You can go post how I brought a dozen KKs packed in a tupperware container to Israel for you & you ate half of them for breakfast one morning & the other half the next morning.

No, let's keep that a secret.

Did it go something like this:

Tatanggapin mo ba ang alay kong pakasalan kita?

Oh, wait, this is not Thai...

This gives new meaning to the phrase “Tongue-Thai-ed”.

You've trademarked "The Lounge," Canarsie?! That's almost as bad as UPS trademarking the color brown .

Miro's bit was Tagalog (which is pronounced da-GAH-lo, not TAG-a-log)... I think "Puwede ba kitang ligawan?" (May I court you?) is my favorite one .

จะ ฉัน แต่งงาน is probably close-ish to "will you marry me?" in Thai.

Perhaps you are right, platbrown™guy.

I should remember to respect the trademark of the United Parcel Service™ from now on...

"Dovster" and "restraint" in the same sentence is an oxymoron
