Just decided to join the 21st century and make my first
GoGo wireless post to The Lounge.
Actually would have done it earlier but I just acquired an iPhone and this is my first DL flight in the last couple of months. GoGo is free for your first session so I'm saving some buckos as well.

In this thread we don't care if you're North West, South West, East West or Undressed, you're still welcome. Heck, I'm even flying Ryanair today, and not earning any points* while doing it, and they let me in here.
*I even bought it with my non-points earning Euro credit card! Blasphemy!

Speaking of United--- there was an incident involving a UA executive a few days ago....

You know, this could make a good case for employee ownership!
I'd still keep a paper bag to slip over your head as needed, but things do finally seem to be settling down.

My Ryanair flight was an hour late, for a one hour flight. FA's spent the entire flight hawking food and toys and charity lotto tickets. Despite their annoying announcements and constant trips up and down the aisle I slept nicely; that was thanks to the turbulence.Pilot was trying to make time, he took a very low approach to PSA and then slammed it into the tarmac; of course, the Italian Pax applauded after landing. (they like doing that; I never understood it..
The only reason I didn't sleep well was the hard seat; after 40 minutes my butt was numb and sore.
I did score an exit aisle on the 738; I paid a few euro extra for priority boarding; I was perhaps the ninth to board, one other person grabbed an exit aisle, all the other priority boarders sat up in the first few rows; that helped them deplane 3 minutes before me.
No one else who sat in exit rows even knew where they were; the two girls sitting in the row in front of mine freaked out when the FA told them it was an exit and asked if they would be willing and able to help; they almost moved.
BTW, as Canarsie will attest, I made it TATL with a single carryon weighing about 17 lbs. (Ryanair has a strict one carry on rule, about 21" x 14" x 8" iirc, and 22 lbs (10 kg), no extra purses, camera bags, or anything. They collect massive checked baggage fees, and I wasn't gonna pay that.

While I will say that the Ryanair plane was very clean, despite that it is no where near the standard set by WN. Ryanair's concept of customer service is to invent more add on fees and junk fees than anyone else could conceive. Fees for OLCI, much higher fees for airport check in, fees to pay by credit card, fees to purchase the ticket in person, iirc there is a fee to buy on line, and their excess baggage fees are truly impressive. That starts at £15 if you pay online, but if you don't find out your bag is too big or overweight till you get to the airport, it starts at £35. And that only covers a 15 kg bag, after that it's £20 per kilo. (These are Euro or UK pounds, they figure a 1 to 1 exchange rate).
Oh, and £40 if you didn't do OLCI and or lost your BP and need a new one at the airport. WN doesn't hold a candle to them!

Obviously you paid the breathing fee.

I don't even want to go into details on what has happened recently.
Verizon FiOS is amazing. Love the wifi and the DVR.
Nice new computer. Windows 7 is nice as well.
PBI in February? Secured.
SJO in April? Maybe. (Spanish field trip over April break - that would surpass HNL as the farthest south I've been.)
I have watched about 16 or so episodes of "Airline," about WN operations. I now know what I'm doing with my life. Ground operations supervisor for DL. Where that is, I'm not sure.
Xbox 360 is nice as well. I might've killed a third of my bank account but I'm happy with it.
How are all of the other Lounge lizard/lizardettes?

All,
Thanks for the warm welcome, I enjoyed the laughs, and acceptance of this NW Outcast. However, I'm not so sure about the undressed fruit in the lime green speedo
Looks to be a fun place to hang out.....Chat with you again soon!

Good night, lounge.
Yes, a bit early, but after a mostly sleepless night in Y, a few hours on the train, and walking around in the rain all afternoon, I'm giving in to jet-lag.
