I'm in pretty much your same boat. Took early retirement five years ago after a lifetime as a Road Warrior™. Over six million miles, the majority on DL, and over four thousand room nights in hotels. I too was Royal Medallion, Flying Colonel and PM every year that the program was offered.
Had planned to continue my travel pace into retirement and we started that way but quickly decided that travel had become a major PITA. And we always fly in the front of the bus so it wasn't a comfort thing. Mostly just a TSA thing and the fact that the overall FC experience had gone downhill at a fast pace since DL decided to give it away.
So we're traveling much less nowadays and enjoying life much more. I just need to decide what to do with all my accumulated miles other than to will them to Dovster.

So bob278, it is probably time for you to join us on his next expedition east which will be in early May in and around DC. That will be an easy drive for you from wherever you are in Carolina.

To assist you in this endeavor, I will even allow them to stay, free of charge, in my home.
Of course, as I do not have a mansion the size of JFE's, I can not put them both up at the same time so they will not be able to travel together. Also, as the UIG tends to visit me while she is in Israel we will have to agree on dates when she is busy in Lugano or Milano.
How to chose the lucky recipients?
Obviously, they can not be FTers as no FTer would get on a flight that long on an award ticket which will not get him any miles.
On the other hand, they should not be complete strangers to us either. We should at least know one of their relatives.
To this end, I suggest scoow's Sexy Sister-in-Law and Traveller's Incredibly Gorgeous Blonde Sister.
No, no, don't bother thanking or praising me for this idea...it is not only the very least I could do but I am also hoping to do a lot more once they get here.

When you need an extra 500K miles to book that SlyMiles award to the next county, give Cornelius Chatsworth Cholula III a jingle. The first 6000 callers might even get a free Hawaiian shirt (slightly used).

I don't mind a slightly used shirt. i can always through it in the washer. Myt question: how many miles or posts can I get as credited for admitting to OWNING said shirt?

Just a little...we had a very interesting process with there being one too many people on board (there was a NRSA F/A on board that ended up taking a jumpseat), ground crew disconnected the APU a bit early causing more delay and ground crew forgot to load someone's electric wheelchair until we were about to push back. Was pretty

If any "V" seats are released up until three hours before scheduled departure, those who have checked in online will be bypassed. At the three hour mark, the UG list goes to airport control and the standard pecking order is re-established.
I do not know 100% that this is correct nor how frequently those seats are released but if I did not have the advance UG, I would to do the OLCI about 3:15 before the flight.
