Government inaction for you--but, it is still better than the French methodology

Did they bribe the DOT?

Pull up the carpet and put down tile. Easy to clean and maintain and tile will not retain odors. But on second thought what is TSA doing smelling the carpet, getting high, or are they smelling themselves?

It's only appropriate that they charge a premium price for a entrιe that soon will be quite scarce. That indicates a good application of capitalist principles -- Simply Good Business™.

UA has been trying hard to remake itself. The "new" UA today is not the POS that was UA a couple years ago.

However, I doubt the same can be said of United Express.

Clearly United Express has been breathing the same air that US has been breathing...

No, it's still a POS (most of the time).

Mersk862 had to call me this weekend to proclaim "there was nothing United effed up this weekend"

Alas he was on a simple MSP-ORD-MSP trip. When I pointed that out, he said "well if anyone was going to screw that up, it'd be UA"

Actually, if you are flying US, then a simple PVD-PHL becomes a fun re-route via LGA and CLT, or possibly via LGA and via BWI

Clearly UA has much to learn

Please, that's not even a re-route on UA. UA allows routings like:

MCO-ORD-IAD-DEN-CLT-LAX

That does make sense why the Mileage RUnners love UA.

FT is so complicated.

In certain threads, POS is "Piece of S..." and is a crude insulting term, and is quite acceptable.

In other threads it is "Person of Size", intended as a polite and respectful description for substantial passengers, and those threads always end up getting locked.

The really odd thing is, all of that makes perfect sense to me.

Well, for US that's the nice things people have to say.

That would look fun - if it wasn't for the fact that CLT-LAX would be on US Airways.

But yes, I plan on getting my 90 EQS on CO this year by primarily flying short UA hops en route to/from the West Coast.

I think I need to have a t-shirt made up: I survived my lethal injection at Abbott NW.

UX did a royal job of screwing up an even shorter trip (STL-ORD) the last time I flew them. First plane went mechanical, gate reader went mechanical, FA made a big deal of relocating everyone for weight & balance purposes even though the plane was full, and finally the replacement plane went mechanical (couldn't steer) upon landing at ORD -- took an hour & a half to get towed to a gate.

Fortunately, the CSR in the WC @ ORD overlooked our change fees when we finally got there.

Our compensation from UA was an underwhelming pair of $25 certs that I eventually gave away in CC.

Sounds similar to my UAX experience in BUR earlier this year.
