Avatar, as predictable as the sun rising, the plot was cheap, obvious , and cliche, but visually it was pretty. A good popcorn movie, but definitely not worth mentioning in the best picture category.
While I have not seen Avatar, based on reviews and comments similar to jfe's I preferred The Blind Side and am ready to see the movie again.

I know some will find this hard to believe:

Just used my DL AmEx Companion Pass online for the precise flights desired and the disclosed taxes ($42.80 in the case of this itinerary).

I think its very good movie where you can watch Avatar but, I didn't watch it yet. I should have it to get the DVD real soon. Did you ever watch the movie Alvin & the Chipmunks 2 yet?

You don't want to pull someone who can't even spel his own name.

Or perhaps they just spell it differently in the UK?

A little known tidbit of naval history...

The U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides), as a combat vessel, carried 48,600 gallons of fresh water for her crew of 475 officers and men. This was sufficient to last six months of sustainedperations at sea. She carried no evaporators (i.e. fresh water distillers).

However, let it be noted that according to her ship's log, "On July 27, 1798, the U.S.S. Constitution sailed from Boston with a full complement of 475 officers and men, 48,600 gallons of fresh water, 7,400 cannon shot, 11,600 pounds of black powder and 79,400 gallons of rum."

Her mission: "To destroy and harass English shipping."

Making Jamaica on 6 October, she took on 826 pounds of flour and 68,300 gallons of rum.

Then she headed for the Azores, arriving there 12 November. She provisioned with 550 pounds of beef and 64,300 gallons of Portuguese wine. On 18 November, she set sail for England. In the ensuing days she defeated five British men-of-war and captured and scuttled 12 English merchant ships, salvaging only the rum aboard each.

By 26 January, her powder and shot were exhausted. Nevertheless, although unarmed she made a night raid up the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. Her landing party captured a whisky distillery and transferred 40,000 gallons of single malt Scotch aboard by dawn. Then she headed home.

The U. S. S. Constitution arrived in Boston on 20 February 1799, with no cannon shot, no food, no powder, no rum, no wine, no whisky, and 38,600 gallons of water.

Sorry, but your analogy is completely flawed.
Private health care is not an analogy -- we already have a private health care system that works. TSA, on the other hand, is government at its "best".

Over time the stock market is a much better investment. Social security and medicare have never been anything but a ponzi scheme.

They arrival home was probably known before they were sighted by the prevailing winds.

Anyone watching Dancing with the Stars?

It is always the quiet, shy type that has the most surprises.

He's either modest, or he's moved on from the Mansion™ to something even more grand (though I'm struggling to think of what that could be).

Is it possible that jfe now just owns the Earth and the multitude of Mansion™s and Grotto™s that it holds, and now we are all beholden to this owner of Mansion™s and Grotto™s?
